I see I assumed correctly then. It's a Praga! It's a Judd? No wait, it's a BMW...

Was pleasantly surprised with how well the cars went at Spa. Most important thing was that they were reliable and got lots of running.
If they can make the same leap forward they did from Silverstone to Spa to Le Mans then they could be fighting for the lead early on. Not sure they'll go the distance but in later WEC rounds they could be in the mix for podiums and wins. |

I'd love to see it in a brighter livery. It's already prettier than all of the new P1s. But I'v gaving JPS livery overdose already.

Maybe have the gold light up for Le Mans, that would be interesting to see!

So what the scoop/consensus on this car?
I don't think it will be the P2 winner but I am more than happy to be wrong. Just seems that the whole car is a unknown with reliability. But designed by F1 engineer. Collin Kolles involvement. How is the Judd engine in this car? Will it last 24 hours? Will it go to LMP1? Its a very good looking prototype. I like it better than the Porsche. Team lead by Collin Kolles. And if it goes LMP1 is it considered Factory or Privateer? Is it possible to get a customer Toyota engine for this car? |

I for one like the car and hope they can sell a few for next season. As far as an Lmp1 goes it would take them a bit of work, but they have started the desire to be in P1. Im sure running the P2 had given them a bit of data to work with going forward. You bring up a good point about the engine, that is for sure going to be a sticking point for privateers next year.

Not sure of the final version of the 2104 regs, but I thought ERS/non-ERS was the determining factor, and "factory" and "privateer" didn't really pertain in quite the same way it does now.
For instance, Porsche could sell non-ERS versions of its new car and they would be "privateers" even if they had Porsche motors in Porsche chassis, so long as there was no ERS. Haven't read a finalized version of the 2014 regs so not sure. |

The factories will be hard to compete with because of cubic dollars, but the non-ERS cars are supposed to be significantly lighter.

870kg vs 850kg. A 5kg difference compared to todays regs. I dont think they should be that heavy. I think 800kg for non ers cars and 850kg+ for factory hybrids. That would keep speeds up and consumption down. Maybe thats "too light" for private teams? But I dont see how when lmp2 was that weight half a decade ago.
