Hybrid - ALMS if a deal can be put together LMP2 - Barazi-Epsilon (I hadn't heard anything about it being a semi-works effort) LMP1 - Zytek are talking to one or two teams. But they want buyers as opposed to running the car as a factory entry themselves. A development programme is underway for both the P1 and P2 engines, so I can only assume that either they or a customer expect to be competing in P1. |

i dont think so . I get the impression that "if" Barazi didnt race the car , Zytek might have .
Semi works was a wrong word i used . I mean that if Barazi didnt run it , Zytek would ahve . |

The production of 6 monocoques will then be started: 2x Pescarolo, Rollcentre, Lister, Kruse and unknown (perhaps also upgrade from Courage C65). Shakedown of the car is planned for beginning of January, with new Judd engine. Pescarolo is looking for budget to run a second car in LMS. source: http://www.endurance-info.com/article.php?sid=2924 |

Given the number of tubs, it will be a struggle to get them all done before the middle/end of March. From what I understand, each tub takes between three to four weeks to make and I presume they will only have one set of moulds.
Order of delivery: pesca (1) January, Lister (Feb), Shorty (march), Kruse (April), pesca (1) (April) and other (Swiss Spirit if they sell their LC70) (???). Definitely looks like pesca tubs are ahead of the others (Zytek and Creation) but they have a lot of customers orders to fill. |

I think that may have been their original plan , but they ordered a 2007 spec LC70 and have their 2006 spec LC70 up for sale . So it must be a single chassis effort again .

Why are there not more Lola's in the field? With their exit from Champ Car and the perfomance of the chassis on both sides of the pond! And the apparent lack of manufacturing capabilities (tubs). One would think that they would be courting the Sports Car market in the LMS and that customers would want a consistantly competitive chassis! Or one of the builders would strike a deal for tubs.

I thought that Rollcentre would be getting one of Henri's old cars updated to the new regs( similar to the Dome S101 upgrade for RFH next year).

That's what they said in the original press release. Iwondered at the time how much would be 'old' car though. It'll have to have the new chassis and modified bodywork and a new engine. That doesn't leave much!

Interesting to note in the same article that we can perhaps look forward to seeing two LC75's (with two different teams) in the Le Mans Series next year. |

Yes, that's right. Markland Racing will run a Z06 in GT2 in Le Mans Series.
The team wants to do Le Mans (2007 or 2008) Test Driver is Jan Magnussen but no official support from GM Racing Last edited by Antho; 13 Dec 2006 at 17:11. |

Another very interesting project for 2007, although I do have some reservations about it. I know they are based on different versions, but I'm not fully in favour of a situation where we have Corvette's (or any other car for that matter) running in both GT classes in the LMS. There's been much talk on here about the importance of being able to distinguish between which makes/models run in which classes to enable new/casual fans to understand more easily what is going on. |

Yeah thats correct cmk, but it often means that teams are looking for pay drivers, particularly in sportscar racing. As I am sure you are aware sportscar racing generally doesent have the same level of sponsorship as some other racing categories and the drivers are by and large drivers who are wealthy businessman or ex F1/works manufacturers drivers.
Most drivers who receive sponsorship backing are generally young drivers who are typically racing in GP2/Champcar or back marker F1 teams. |
