How many deals do you think are done for next Season? Don’t they have a deadline this month or is that deadline for the teams to submit there plans etc etc…

I have to say, I'm getting very concerned about the lack of rummors.

Teams need to confirm TBLs sometime during this month, and TOCA usually announce the confirmed list in early December; last year it was the 2nd December. I'm not sure about the cut-off date for drivers, but I think that can be quite late, just before or at the press and testing event. |

For reference, 2023's dates were:
Registration of entry (TBL confirmation) - December 1st 2022. Registration of competitor (Driver confirmation) - March 17th 2023. |

The Rob Huff test at Croft last month with Toyota, according to one who was there Alex Brundle also had a run out, but doesn't have any plans to go for a BTCC seat.
Okay, doesn't add to the rumour part of the thread, but it's a tidbit. Does make me wonder how he would do in a FWD Tourer. And also makes you wonder how Chandhok would have done had he committed a couple of years back. |

On the subject of Huff... He's now firmly in contention for the TCR World Tour title, so we could conceivably have the 2023 TCR World Tour champion in the 2024 BTCC. |

I know this is a BTCC 2024 thread, but this doesn't really count as either BTCC or 2024.
https://www.btcc.net/2023/11/06/prop...hip-announced/ First detail of the new for 2025 junior support category. 1.8l 4-cyl sealed 'TOCA' engine, RWD with front/rear subframes (NGTC jr), with generic bodywork. Run by the same BARC that run the JSCC (Junior Saxos) Sounds similar to the old T-Cars series that Tom Chilton started in. |

Yep, I think that related to BTCC making a ''big return'' to the Autosport show this coming January, the teams have been informally told to make sure they (not necessarily every squad) give something for the championship to talk about at the show. |So I expect a trickle of lower 3rd of the grid driver announcements from December onwards as per past years.

TOCA must have already signed off a contract with the company that is going to produce the "bespoke" body for the car because TOCA claims that the, or is it a, car will be on show at Autosport International, even though the final details of everything will not be published until the Spring. And that is after MSUK has formally agreed to the whole project. |

Probably the best option though, especially without manufacturer backing. Aside from Ginetta the current junior options are using an old shape Fiesta or ancient Saxo, neither of which was a good look for TOCA. Having a generic / bespoke body gets around that problem.

Comparable in general proportions / styling (obviously not designed after the Camaro etc.) Perhaps not quite as short!

I'm fairly confident that when I read the news release on the BTCC website that it did state that a car would be present at the show, however it now says at all BTCC rounds. Unless I misread it, they must have updated the release. |

Press release makes reference to having space for a driver coach/instructor where needed, so I think we are looking at a more conventional sized (nominal) 2-seater. You couldn't get 2 people in a Legend/Aussie Racing sized car.
