Completely the right attitude It's not like these cars aren't selling? I mean GT3 and GT4 are flourishing, I see no reason to complain |

Interesting interview with Ratel (in French) about what is - and what isn't - in store for GT4 in the next year. Looks like a performance boost for GT4 is under consideration for 2019. Would be interesting to have more details on what that could entail. Aero? Engine performance? Both? |

A performance boost? Why? To make room for GT5?

Maybe for the under weight, could be a GT3 too, like the KTM X-Bow that is a GT4, but True-Racing Team use this car with a GT3 Spec in A6-Pro in Crevetic 24, the last 12 hours of Mugello. |

GT4 is dead. Long live GT4.
Cost is relative, and it depends on what a class's mission is. If GT4 was still a close to production spec beginners class, then yes - rising costs would be an issue. But with GT4 appearing to be set to become the backbone of national GT racing and thus much more than a mere entry class, it is probably sensible to give the class the looks and the performance worthy of a national top class. You don't need to go crazy, but horsepower on par with the equivalent roadcars and a somewhat more aggressive aero-package would sure be nice. If necessary use a spec wing for all cars a la BTCC or old Grand Am GT. GT4 with a little bit of help in the aero-department would look mighty fine. |

Given that most of the current crop of GT4 cars have had their power restricted over the roadgoing versions(it varies from series to series, but GT4s generally end up restricted to 450-500 horsepower during balancing), it actually might not cause a huge jump in cost to increase performance - as long as the performance increase is done via the engine, at least, and not a reworking of the allowable aero.
That power rating, however, does suddenly make the idea of GT5 an appealing concept even without the power boost. As Hondafan37 noted, GT4 is not exactly ideal even as it stands for some lower-power sportscars that rely on light weight. A GT5 class meant for such cars would not be a bad thing. GT4 as it stands is filling in the exact spot that GT3 was originally designed to. And if GT3 keeps developing to further insanity and GT4 evolves along similar lines, a GT5 class will come along to fill the hole again. It's actually a pretty smart system - you can let things evolve as participants want and always be ready to fill in the gaps that get left behind. They just need to realign the bloody class numbers as they evolve! Let's be honest, GT3 is not GT3 anymore, and it should be renamed GT1(or GT2 depending on your viewpoint). |

Naw, they should switch back to letters... GTA, GTB, GTC...Or actually, GT and N-GT would make sense as well.

Looks like 4 teams from the Southern Cup will be doing the three guest races in the North to score points for the overall trophy:
https://north.gt4series.com/file/dow...ds%20Hatch.pdf More than I expected, less than I had hoped for. We won't know which Northern teams will go for the EU title until Pau in two weeks' time, but just from the French entries, Alain Ferté and Greg Demoustier gotta be the favorites. |

Several teams from the Northern Cup planning to do the three Southern Cup.
Ekris Motorsport and Allied-Racing have already gone on the record saying they are hoping to do it. |

Was really hoping the southern cup races were going to get the same English coverage the northern cup does... Particularly for the Pau, Dijon, Magny-Cours swing.

Just to add, those two Phoenix Audi R8 GT4s are driven by two drivers in each, Peter Terting being a driver in both pairs.
No17- Peter Terting / Rahel Frey No18 - Peter Terting / Alex Yoong Nice to see Alex in Europe after much campaigning with Audi in asia |

Here are some insights into the new Mercedes-AMG GT4, in the words of Manuel Metzger who's part of the development team: http://www.gt-report.com/2017/08/31/...chmark-in-gt4/
Also some pics of the car in action |

These cars are still owned by AMG, this is purely development work to see how the Ams get along with it and what it can do in competition. They, or at least one of those teams, will get new ones once homologation has come through

Oh, I know ;-) Had a number of chats about this as we worked on getting one to Zandvoort, already knowing the showcars were unavailable.

Good to see another car in the category. Didn’t someone in the UK build a GT4 Mx5? |
