Not to disparage the current Japanese Toyota GT500 drivers (who are all good and who won the title in the case of Hirate), but maybe Toyota want to ensure that their best Japanese drivers compete domestically for exposure, or just for pride.

Daisuke Ito will be the new team director of the #36 au TOM's LC500, and will replace Kazuki Nakajima at this year's Fuji 500km due to a clash of schedules between SGT and WEC for Nakajima.

Ito was pushed aside from the seat at the conclusion of the season. I think it was only a matter of time just like he said. Nakajima is back with Rossiter now, so it's a familiar team.

Even then, Kaz will miss the Suzuka 1000km as it clashes with a WEC race. IMO, after losing LM like they did last year, it's pretty clear that LM/WEC is a big deal for Toyota now, especially as with them out numbering Porsche at LM and no Audi to get in between or ahead of them and Porsche, the time to strike is now for Toyota.

The WEC 6h of Mexico City is the week after the Suzuka 1000km, so the 6h Spa/Fuji 500km week remains Kazuki's only date clash.

According to BOB Suzuki blog :
Its seem that M6 GT3 update kit is not yet complete for the Bathrust race And the article is as shown as below: @Japanese Samurai Can you please translate this article as shown as above with bold words http://lineblog.me/studiebob/archives/9259565.html |

It was a severe race for BMW.
However, various trouble has caused is a good thing consequently. BMW would fix those trouble by 2017 season start. Racing is very tough business, I thought that. |

They're on http://as-web.jp.
Any idea on who was driving the RC-F GT3? Maybe a different driver was faster and able to do the 2:01? It seems like the #36 and the Lexus in general is setting the fast times throughout testing with the GTR's close and the NSX again about a second off the pace |

It's Akira Iida and Hiroki Yoshimoto in the RC-F, and Yuhki Nakayama was in the MC86.

@rjoconnell
Then how about the BMW M6 GT3 team????? Still no news about the BMW M6 GT3 team???? I think that M6 GT3 will decreased to one car , due to the reliability issues and something else. Anyone have idea which team do they used BMW M6 GT3 for this season , will participants of M6 GT3 will deceased or increased??? In Bathrust 12 hours race, most of the GT3 car are not officially updated to 2017 specs but M6 GT3 (including the major upgrades for M6 GT3 but they also not officially 2017 specs ) pace are very good despite having some mistake for the driver of the team , if they are not making the mistake then they can dominate the bathrust 12 hours races. @rjoconnell Do you agree in this statement??? It'll be two BMW M6 GT3s next year. Don't know who the drivers are until they're announced.

I hoped ARTA will received additional support from BMW and the official outsources BMW team as well. Because Autobacs company announces the acquisition of a BMW dealership in Tochigi. And I hoped ARTA will create the racing junior program for BMW same as the BMW Motorsport Junior program. https://www.autobacs.co.jp/images/da.../27/ScHGni.pdf http://motorcars.jp/autobacs-to-make...idiary20161229 http://response.jp/article/2016/12/27/287657.html |
