Caldwell has what looks like a little ridge and some fencing between those stretches that run along side one another, plus there seems to be some elevationchanges there that aslo serve as a buffer....
No big deal, but I was wondering if it had occurred to you...taht's all... |

So, here it is!.
I've looked forward to revealing this track to ya, 'cos i really like it myself, and was curious to see what y'all think of it!. Circuito do Montes de Amenhoeira Circuito do Montes de Amenhoeira: Circuito do Montes de Amenhoeira, or in short terms just Montes de Amenhoeira, is set in the hills outside the portuguese town of Loulé, 25 km's from Faro (airport), and 50 km's from Albufeira, both important tourism-cities on the Algarve coast, in the southern part of portugal. The track is set on a slope around the villages of Amenhoeira and Clarianes. The track is built with F1 in mind, but there are several other variations on site. So, lets ride! We start off going uphill on Reto de Comeco, before hitting Primeira Volta, a 90' degree righthander, that should see some overtaking. This is followed by a series of esses, Esses de Clarianes. These lead up to the second straight, Reto Elevadas, at the peak altitude of the track. This short 500 metre straight takes us into the only actual hairpin on the track, La Apertada. Now we hit the torturous back part of the track, speeding down thru the right-left-right kinks at São Clemente, San Bras and Alportel, storming past the gate to the second timing-sector, still going faster downhill thru Zouros kink, and the feared right-left flickflack at Alfegico. Now, we finally end the 1km. descend at the challenging Varredura, a sweep, where the cars would be feathering throttle coming in, and struggling to keep up pace thru it. This takes us on to the new-section, the previous being a former club-circuit. We start off on Reto de Clube, where the racing school and the club pits are located. This ends in the combination of Nova Afiada and Varredura Nova, a hairpin followed by a sweep. This ascends us to Reto Jorge Carlos Buque, which, still ascending, brings us into the final timekeeping sector. At the end of this awaits us an interesting combination. Ascending thru sharp Faro Corner, and the looser Loulé Corner, before, much to the drivers relief, we accelerate thru Curva de Algarve, and blast down Reto de Portugal. There is a chicane located on this, used for MotoGP'ers aswell as for the Club-circuit. This ends in the Parabolica, the final corner on the track, bringing us upwards to the finish line. Edits and comments much appreciated . |

Wow TR, amazing track, one of the best I've seen from you!!! It's just got a perfect overall shape to it, and the corner combos are excellent Only two changes I would make. First would be to link São Clemente, San Bras and Alportel into one long, fast, sweeping left hander, as I think the track could use one of those. And the second would be to get rid of that optional chicane on Reto de Portugal, as I think the riders/drivers might feel that they were being short-changed of a nice long straight that only the F1 drivers get, and it doesn't really add much to the track IMO. Other than those two things, I'm blown away man!!! Last edited by crozier74; 24 Jan 2004 at 20:36. |

Yes, yes, I like that! Very challenging and very fast. A lot of nice corner combinations. Theres one or two small changes I'd make, i'll edit it and show you but otherwise very....very nice.

Ok t_r, (Just use this as an excuse to say I like your track again ) and here are my three small edits. I would let the cars just run down into T5 instead of taking T4 just for the fact that the rest of the track is quite sweeping and it suits it Loosen up T13-14 combo ever so slightly and get rid of the chicane at T15-16 for the same reason as my T4 edit. (And I haven't edited T9-10, I just couldn't get the line to fit over it properly) Again, nice track.

Thx mates!.
Crozier, i guess you could make 6-8 a sweeper. But there is a big sweep on the track already, at 12 . And the three kinks would be more challenging. A bit slower, though. |

t_r, I've been meaning to ask you this for a while, how do you post your tracks over 400x400 Dimensions?

posting them on a website and then linking to it.
I would do it with my tripod website, except it doesn't allow it. |

Ooo I see. Quite a good idea that. My freewebs site only takes 7 per page though so I would be for ever uploading them and taking them down again. Anyway I use it for my race photos now.

Nice site there Jamie.
Not going to do A-levels then? Good luck in becoming a motorsport photographer. Something i've thought about myself, but i don't get to enough motorsports events to practice, so that's out of the question. Photography is definitely something that i'd like to get into more though. What camera do you have? Mine's an Olympus something or other, non-digital, 38-76mm zoom. Pretty useless for taking pics of distant cars. |

Quite a few people I know are doing A-levels but I've had enough of school so it's time for me to leave this year.
Ever since I was young I’ve wanted to do something involving motor sport and I've finally decided I want to take the photographers root so I hope I’m successful. The site doesn't have much up at the moment. I thought it'd be a start to get some of my photos on a website. It was really the middle of last year I started getting interested so this year I'm going to quite a few events. I really need to fill a portfolio now of my photos, might even take a gap year so I get an efficient amount of photographs. The camera I used to take those photos was a digital camera-Kodak DX4330 with a 3X optical zoom and 3.3X advanced digital zoom and has a 2160x1440 pixels resolution! I got a few of my photos onto the racingsportscars site from the FIAGT Donington meeting last year and I have been in contact with the guy from the site over the winter so I told him which GT meetings I would be attending and he has agreed to use the photos I take on his site (as long as they are good enough!) so things are going along nicely so far. Thanks for the Good luck P (A bit off topic but what do you want to do as a career?) Here is the link to the racingsportscars site, http://racingsportscars.t35.com/phot...-29-photo.html |

MAGNY-COURS CIRCUIT!!!...
I'd like people to give their opinions on the 2002 Magny-Cours circuit, and the 2003 Magny-Cours circuit, which one is better etc... Additionally, I'd like people to add their edits to it. I've added an edit of the track here. The brother of the webmaster of Racing Circuits.net inspried me. Here is his circuit: http://www.blanchimont.racingdrivers...magnycours.htm Here is my circuit, which I believe is much better and has much more variety... Opinions please.... |

Personally I've never liked Magny-Cours so I prefer all edits to that track!

Nice edit Conrad, it's definitely an improvement on the current version (what the hell are they doing with that chicane at Lycee?!?!), although personnally I think the one that you linked to is just a little bit better.
I think the two changes I would make to your's would be to get rid of that chicane at Adeliade, and work upon the entrance to Nurburgring to improve overtaking there. The main change I would make to the Blanchimont version would be to lengthen the distance between Imola and that new 180' just after it. The thing I find most interesting about that one though, is that it eerily reminds me of a kart/motorcycle/sprint track I've raced and won at, Three Sisters in Wigan. What do you reckon? Ah the three sisters track. I researched that a while back and made a long circuit out of it just for enjoyment but I never posted it. I think it looks really fun to drive though, plus so many different varients!

It is really good fun to drive, nice fast flowing corners, with a good overall rhythm and feel to it. The short 1km track that I posted is fairly flat, but all that changes on the other variants! Coward's Summit is HUGE, and the steep descent through the valley chicane is a massively fun challenge!!!

It seems ages since I posted a blank canvas track, so here's my latest design - Cumbria International Race Circuit.
Set amid the beautiful setting of the Ullswater lake and rolling hills such as Loadpot Hill and Place Fell in the Lake District National Park, the circuit is still easily accessible thanks to the nearby M6 motorway, and is handily situated near to the service amenities of Penrith. The circuit features multiple elevation changes, notably the steep climb at the start of the lap and then descent on the sweeping left hander after the hairpin. The circuit would not be built with Formula 1 in mind, but would be capable of hosting F3, touring cars, superbikes and other international championships. |
