I didnt realise that there were rumours that TF Sport might be moving on from Aston Martin at the end of the year. Confirmation that they have had talks with Ford over the Mustang..
https://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/...ay-notebook-2/ Vantage isnt my favourite car but id be sad to see another brand leave GT racing. |

It makes you wonder the type of support AMR offers for gt3 racing. We seldom see GT3 Pro entries from Aston Martin teams, and if there are they are usually one offs.
The most consistent recently have been Heart of Racing and IMSA Ford might be more willing to offer the support as they are trying to establish their customer base in the market so might be a better proposition. There is also the 2 cars per manufacturer at Le Mans- might be that AMR is thinking of supporting Heart of Racing for that entry rather than TF Sport(which would be interesting as TF sport have been with AMR for a lot of year) |

Okay so the rumoured programme is a privateer Aston Martin team. If it comes to pass, wow. |

I guess this also reserves a place for Aston Martin in LMGT3. |

This Valkyrie project NEEDS to happen. Just imagine a screaming V12 on the grid.

Producing ~400hp less than it's road-going configuration? It'll be yawning more than screaming.
I'd love to see it, but I won't believe it until I do. |

ANY thought of a screaming engine is out the window, that thing will turn revs like a diesel to get below 670hp. But I guess Stroll Jr has to have something to play with if AMR wants to be more serious and develop a car, Ole Fred is dragging that car to the front but Lance isn't keeping up.

Exactly, which is why that V-12 engine won't be used. Too big, under the present rules, to fit the presently designated power train bay (remember, the Valkyrie was designed and made for the 2018-2025 rules, which were abandoned when the 2023-2027 'convergence' rules were adopted).
More than likely, the V-8 engine, in the present GT3 variant, will be the basis for the redesign, along with the chassis. All other aspects will be kept, as they still fit the present rules for LMH. |

V12 engines don't need to be extremely high revving to sound good, I don't think anyone has ever complained about the Mclaren F1 GTR's sound.
Also it's worth noting the current power figures were a result of trying to accomodate the Valkyrie, Jim Glickenhaus was really mad about it. Quote:

Just a random thought but I wonder if it's someone like Team Veloqx/Sam Li putting up the cash.

Seeing, and hearing, is believing. But this would be fun to have on the grid.

I remember it differently, i.e. power was supposed to be much higher than ~670 hp when Valkyrie was still around and dropped to current window after Aston axed their program.

As for Glickenhaus, that was due to the supposed deal with Alfa Romeo that came up short, causing him to go with Pipo. The real contretmp is the possibility of Alfa looking to enter with a challenger of their own. Quote:

But nothing in the regs says they CAN'T build it. Unless you're on the team doing the work maybe take a step back with your dictates from on high about what can be done.

Can't a normally aspirated V12 be mated with a P2 châssis to make a Nissan DPi-like LMDh program for cheaper than finish a full Valkyrie LMH we know is really complicated (since the roadcar almost sank AM once) ?
I am remembering fondly the Lola-AMR B09/62 by the way |

Would have thought it may be something to do with Geely as they are now big shareholders
After previous let downs hope both Strolls never get near it |

I was hoping they’d randomly do LMDh and the ACO would laugh at them and forget to give them an entry.
More seriously, I hope this comes to be and the people looking after the road and track versions get to work on this program. |
