Mattracer should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The format of AA is a twoffold issue- sure it looks different, even some would say "coffee table friendly". I liked the broadsheet style better, and the fact it was every second week made it worth the wait. Then MN went to the "Autosport" format ie, "smaller" but the reading is just as good. I liked AA more when it was broad sheet and 2 weekly.

Do we have any stats on AA in the old days, to see if the circulation has dropped off over the years?
August 2000 13,862
April 2002 14,028
August 2002 13,012

not much movement the last three years

but if we look back further

Hmm, broadsheet plus the V8/ST war was in 1997.

What difference would the V8/ST war make to magazine sales?

Matt: Broadsheet was still being used in '02.

AA has never been broadsheet. Tabloid maybe . . . . but certainly never the size as the Sydney Morning Herald

I was earning money of the internet back then, selling stories, and the readership of my then column was of a greater population than Brisbane. You need to back track a few more years than '97.

Yeah, but how many decent Australian sites were floating around? Apart from aus.sport.motor there weren't exactly any forums to catch up on the gossip from...
