Seems Marquez is going to need to fix what ever
is going on in his head. He is making mistakes that he never really made(much) as a rookie. I guess they are catching up with him.The bike seemed to have pace today to stay with Lorenzo. Very interesting interview with MM team manager(?) he thought the issues this year were a combination of rider/bike issues. MM's chances of a championship are now gone and needs to focus on whats going on in that helmet and get back to basics and rebuild. We know he can do this. |

He's lost faith in the bike, not surprising really as it wants to throw him off into corners. There's talks he's going to switch back to 2014 chassis, which I personally think would be a smart move, as then we'd most likely see the Marc we all know and love return!
(And not gonna lie, don't want to see arrogant Lorenzo anymore, hashtag bored) |

Interesting. Probably worth a try even though factories hate that.
Agree on Lorenzo. I could do with out the post race theatrics. |

I know in Mugello, it kept lighting up mid corner under braking, he had no control whatsoever! I can imagine it's very unsettling being on a bike where you don't know whether it's going to be good or kind to you one moment to the next! Trying the previous years chassis will definitely be a telling point - one thing he hasn't lost is talent, even though people are saying that!
I think there's only really one person who can pull off the post race theatrics and that's Valentino - even so, it's not as cringeworthy! |

I am predicting a good start for #93 MM then he will
get a good gap in Assen for the win. |

Yeah it was (yet to see a bad race @ Assen), but all we will hear about is that last corner ...
For my tuppence Marquez played right into Rossi's hands. Vale knew Marc was going to dive into the chicane to try and get ahead, so when they got close he could bug out safe in the knowledge that he was always ahead of Marquez (making it very hard for MM to claim that Rossi gained an advantage) and that if he kept his line someone was going to crash. For all of MM's insane bike control he could do with some more racecraft. A great win for Vale, especially to get some breathing space from Lorenzo, whose pace wasn't bad actually but he just has too much to do. |

I know there are only a hand full of bike guys here,
but even if you are not, look at this 2 min video of what happened at the finish of the Moto3 race in Assen. This is the most amazing high side saves I have ever seen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrUTJlRPcJo |

Each time I watch Marquez ride now I think he is gonna out brake himself & cannon into the back of the bike infront of him - much like the Catalunya crash where he just missed Lorenzo... Seems I have lost confidence in him this season
Been impressed with Iannone this season - he was always fast but a crasher in Moto 3/2, refreshing to see, hope he gets a GP win this year |

Good call on Marquez. On to Indy
where he (I think) has won the last 2. |

Clearly the 2014 chassis works a lot better for Marquez!

I am not going to read through the whole thread, but what is with the ducati winglets on the fairing ? I know what they are supposed to do, but can an aero expert weigh in on the design? Drag vs. Do enforce etc...I hope this does not herald a bewinged formula in MotoGP.

The rules as I recall clearly stated that all parts of the fairing had to be rounded with no projections and part of the fairing. The end fences on the Ducati wings are sharp and the way the wing sticks out is a straight out protrusion, and dangerous to riders. It will be interesting to see if Ducati are allowed to continue. |

The relevant section of the regulations read "Wings may be fitted provided they are an integral part of the fairing or seat and do not exceed the width of the fairing or seat or the height of the handlebars. Any sharp edges must be rounded. Moving aerodynamic devices are prohibited." As can be seen in this photo, the wings are well rounded and are integral to the fairing (not a bolt on) with no end plates as such. What makes them legal is the addition of two black wind deflectors in front of the handgrips (adjacent to the "TIM" logos on the front of the fairing). These deflectors now form the widest part of the main fairing while allowing the fairing to maintain it's slim profile. As long as the wings do not extend out further than these small deflectors they meet the requirement of "do not exceed the width of the fairing or seat or the height of the handlebars". |

Vale will get the plaudits, but what a ride from Danilo Petrucci. The same tyres as everyone else and conditions which levelled the bikes (somewhat).
Incredible stuff. As for Lorenzo - get a better helmet mate, this one might cost you the championship... Last edited by J Jay; 30 Aug 2015 at 13:31. |

That is a good photo and explanation. Is there an advantage here? The showed well..but wings can't make that much diff to bikes can they, not in the current wheelbase and bodywork shapes. How wild would it be to get wings on all these?

it was a bit tense .. specially when the difference was getting towards 1 second ..
it wasn't a mistake but the pressure is back on Lorenzo |
