2 meeting,2 pole position,1 victory.Every race in the points. But it's true that in 2009 Bianchi took half a year to be dominant. I think that World Series graduate will do better than Parente,Van Der Garde,Garcia and Maldonado. |

Just a question, is Luiz Razia confirmed anywhere or expected for this season? I know he's Virgin's reserve driver, but is he going to do GP2 alongside that?

Razia tested Manor's GP3 car but he's looking at GP2. Lets have a look at the last open seats:
Arden: Villa? Gonzalez? Rapax (2): Razia? Arabadzhiev? Maldonado? Gonzalez? Coloni: Parente? Razia? Trident (2): Zaugg? Kralev? Anyone who can afford? DPR: Ricci? |

I think now more people will be interested in DPR, Ricci gets the ride when there's no other driver. It will be nice if he keeps the seat though.

The new GP2 Insider says that GP2 Asia will return "following the 2010 Main Series", so maybe it isn't dead in the water, despite Abu Dhabi being on the Main Series calendar
Maybe they will do what they did in the 2008 Asia Series - start in January with a few standalones (they could probably do Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Dubai if they really wanted to) and then join the early Asian rounds of the F1 championship (Bahrain, Malaysia, China, maybe even India or Korea if it is moved to the start). January probably is a better time to start the Asia Series anyway, as some drivers are already confirmed in teams for Europe and are getting practice before the Main Series. Look at how much stronger the grid was for the final 3 rounds this year compared to the first round. |

Ah right ok, well Oliver's talented enough but it's all about hitting the ground running. There's not much wrong with Giedo ability wise but GP2 is bloody hard to win first season in unless you are either:
a/ a supreme talent or b/ with the right team at the right time. |

Today's Autosport (browsed through in shop as per usual) confirms that the Dallara GP2/05 will now be retired (as does the article posted here by jab). The next GP2 Asia season will use the GP2/08, while a new GP2/11 will be introduced for the main series in 2011. I really hope they are planning on addressing the issues that made the GP2/08 less raceable than the first car.
Regarding the fate of the GP2/05 cars, Didier Perrin said something along the lines that he doesn't want them to be sold off for hillclimbing etc, for safety reasons (he seems to think they can't be maintained to a good enough standard outside of GP2). He wants them to be museum pieces... Well I don't know, there are plenty of private owners hillclimbing or racing old F3000 chassis, so I'd have thought these were safer if anything. But ultimately the teams own the cars and it's their decision. Edit: Oh yeah, I noticed DPR was advertising one car for sale even before the end of the GP2 Asia season. I say: maintain them, use GP2/05 as 2011 chassis. The racing they provide is phenomenal.

Arden has a new Racing Simulator since august 2009.The simulator seemed to work because results of Sergio Perez during last four meetings were better.

What about SUDAM, or Brazilian FR2.0?! Can't AAF join forces, or at least Argies move on and float them? Telly contract will come when you'll have drivers doing the series.

Charles made a good end of season because he worked on the simulator of the team.
Quote:
Interesting to see the evolution of average qualifying of Sergio Perez in the 2009 season.During the first part of season he was at 14.6th place in the grid, since Valencia he was in 7.5th place in grid. Arden will be stronger in 2010 because of their simulator. They will gain time for the set-up and adaption. |

BTW, what will be for Maldonado? If he wants to continue in GP2, Rapax seems to be his only viable option. (He also could join HRT Hispania F1 at mid-season, but don't know his plans).

What a shame, so no Parente at Coloni... They will have a hard time with Arabadzhiev and Valerio, but still a lot better than Kralev.
