I was wondering the same thing. Vaidyanathan did multiple championships last year (in which there were clashes) so maybe doing the same again.

The only clash is the last round of F4, which takes place the same weekend from the EuroFormula Open meeting at the Red Bull Ring. Given the late nature of the F4 season, I guess the championship he'll compete in will depend on which one he is doing best in. Herta's problem is that he can't race at the Snett F4 opener (too young), which means he'll probably be out of the championship contention before the off.

Having seen the new car at the end of last year it was obvious that JP was pitching it as the F3 successor. Another smart set of moves by JP. I wonder if MSA Formula will want to use the F4 name now....could be another money spinner for JP :-) |

Only thing is it is not Formula 3, as Formula Two (2) made by MSV was not F2 as we knew it.

Oulton Park Round.
I'm surprised there hasn't been much comment on the series since the season started; there has been some pretty good racing.
I'm so glad those Tatuus chassis are so strong, Ameya's accident at Oulton was very frightening indeed. |

So British F3 still nudging 21 entries and seems to have had a strong first half of the season, a strong start for the series. Any news on whether teams/drivers think the format is sustainable (with JP running it, most likely yes).

people seem polarised - either it will succeed because they'll use it for a national f3 concept, or it'll die quietly now they've got the name out of palmer's grubby hands and nobody reaaally wants it or can afford it. personally i think it depends what palmer jnr is doing next season, for obvious reasons.

It was initially only called F3 at least only for 2016 while the FIA worked out F3 light which his engines wouldn't qualify for

Like they did with German F3, F3 Open and Italian F3 you mean.
BRDC does not use an F3 Light engine specification? LOL. |
