GT-R GT1. That doesn't sound at all like the onboard from the Zytek. And I think the difference between a flatplane and crossplane V8 in terms of sound is pretty obvious.

Also for more proof that the VK45DE (at least in LMP2 form) is flat-plane crank:

Trackside video of the Greaves Zytek. Doesn't rumble.

alexkiller8 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
it means that when i hear the sound of the VK45 used in 2008/2009 nissan gt-r GT500 (and a zytek modified version actually used in lmp2) and reminds me the sound of an american racing engine, but after reading the post after mine i decided to clear some dubts and i found out that the the engine sound is similiar to the one of the matech ford GT3 that is a yankee-roush one. For sure i don't have the absolute ear, but the sound of VK45 makes me think much more to those kind of engine and not to a typical japanese turbo engine that were commonly used some time in japanese racing cars.
The VK56 was used in the gt-r gt1, i heard again it and i have to admit that i remembered it much louder than what i've heard today

Fully agree on this whole sound thing. More so, the LMP2 Nissan actually sounds a lot like an older 4.0L Zytek engine and even shares the same habit of backfiring more than others (nice flames too). Perhaps it's to the Zytek electronics.
