It was Bortolotti who was driving, no word as to what happened.
I hope that this wont delay the cars debut but i can see it impacting testing a fair amount |

If anything, this gives you real world crash data that can be compared against that compiled for homologation. If the data matches up well, then the chassis is successful and gets the go ahead. And the driver has minimal injuries, even better.

And that's the difference between LMH/LMDh and LMP2,... where the latter is nothing more than a rolling billboard, the former has unique shapes and angles that require a specific design that fits it, be it a Lamborghini, or an Alpine, or a Cadillac, or an Isotta Fraschini...

Looks like Prema is "all in" on their LMDh, as they are letting go of their LMP2 operations for next season, according to Sportscar365.com.
http://www.sportscar365.com/lemans/w...focus-on-lmdh/ If they do well, there just might be a second car. But that's just my opinion... |

There's already a second car announced for LM. Expect expanded programs for 2025 (2nd fulltime car in WEC, possibly 1 fulltime car in IMSA).

I assume one of the reasons for their LMP2 effort was to get ready for LMDh.

It was, evidently. Don't be surprised if WRT does the same. Many of the teams that were preparing for next season's changeover will make their LMP2 machinery available to those looking to make their moves from GT &P3.
It's a good synergy... |

Well and why stay in a limited class when you can guarantee entry with your new toy

Are Lamborghini looking at a full on manufacturer programme or searching for customers to run the cars?
The way they are running in the first year makes me think they would prefer customers to run the car and they provide drivers and expertise etc |

"Starting in 2024, one car will compete in the full FIA World Endurance Championship. The second car will race in the North American Endurance Championship races of the IMSA series. The Iron Lynx team, presented as a partner at the 2022 Lamborghini Grand Finals, will run the cars in both series, and the driving line up will include Bortolotti, Caldarelli, Grosjean and Kvyat." Taken from this: https://www.lamborghini.com/fr-en/mo...x-of-endurance Probably suject to change…

I meant to say - at least to me it seems they are running 1 car in each series in the hopes they will have other teams willing to buy and race the car in future years. Maybe Iron Lynx will still run a car post 2024 but I get the feeling they are hoping other teams would run any additional cars from 2025

Gutted it's not racing Daytona to be honest, seeing it there testing. Surely it would have been worth getting it out there, helping the team sharpen up at the very least.

But they will be back for Sebring, which is pretty good.

https://www.motorsport.com/imsa/news...cota/10556791/ Lamborghini covered about 1150km in the 2 days at Daytona. Pretty good amount I'd say. They're hosting a test at COTA with a couple other GTP cars (Porsche will be there) in the coming days before they ship the car off to the middle East for Qatar's WEC race. And one for Sebring. Not sure which is staying or going?
