Actually, the way things are going with the whole championship thing, I might keep watching Ch.10, so I don't have to watch Cocko's Circus anymore. |

Well the television/entertainment industry must've liked the Ten telecasts, as they won the Logie for Most Outstanding Sports Coverage for Bathurst the past two years have they not?
I'm not really too fussed about the commentary or the telecast. I don't much about the "theory" side of cars (ie. car parts, set ups etc) but I learn bits and pieces sometimes from watching the telecasts. As for the commentators, I think Crompton is the best commentator mainly because he's a former driver himself. |

I found C10's compulsion to explain everything a little annoying; "This is a wheel, it goes round and round". During the cricket you don't expect them to interrupt the actual event for a package about the cows the leather comes from to make the balls...
I hope someone tells C7's director not to cross to the pits EVERY time a car goes in! Apart from that, I think they did a pretty good job. I'm sure C7 will have the same problems going to ad breaks etc...I just hope we end up seeing more on-track action, and crosses to the pits and the little 'colour' pieces only pop up when the safety car is on track... PS I won't miss those "tickets to the end game"! Last edited by bahodie; 24 Oct 2006 at 05:15. |

If people think Channel 10's commentary is Holden/HRT biased, then it will be the same with Channel 7, since it is all in your heads - nothing is going to change.
Give them a go about saying Rick was the new leader in the championship. The computer timing was showing Lowndes with less points than he ended up with, and later updated. Channel 10 do a good job in general showing ads during safety car periods. If they didn't show ads during safety car periods and instead showed ads during green running then you would all be complaining that they dont show ads during safety car periods! They have to show them at some point. What I will not miss is: Showing race 1 at ungodly hours Leigh Diffey (he's great as a pit reporter, but not in the box) Greg Rust trying too hard (he needs to relax) I will miss just about everything else. They can improve, but what we have is pretty good. Last edited by RotorFan; 24 Oct 2006 at 07:17. |

Well guys. I never found Leigh Diffey's commentry annoying. I guess its because I'm English and the voice or whatever isn't as annoying.
Its the same for us with F1 with James Allen. All brits hate him, yet the rest of the world doesn't mind him and don't find him as annoying. C10 sounds like it must have sucked... I agree about the Zinger replay etc and otehr annoying stuff during the race broadcasts.. (We obviously don't get channel 10 here lol but we get the full V8 Supercar coverge) |

I won't miss Diffey, either on TV or walking round the pits 'Cole Trickle' style, dark glasses on and strutting like he's a legend.

I wont miss Leigh Diffey either.
He is the most painful thing about every telecast. Anyone hear his call at the start of Race 3 "And everyone has got through Turn 1 safely"........camera pans back to grid and there's like 10 cars facing the wrong way, bits of bodywork hanging off them, complete chaos. Oh yeah, good call dick. You earn your $'s dontcha? I will miss everything that Crompton offers to the telecasts. Fingers crossed he moves to 7. Other than the commentators, if everything stayed at the same standard we see now, I'd be happy, although late night race 1's weren't great, but bareable. |

Another thing I won't miss- A car pulls into the garage, the driver hops out of the car ****ed off, and there in the background you can see Greg Rust and his merry men standing there like idiots waiting for an interview.

I reckon the same people that are complaining about Channel 10's coverage will be whinging about Channel 7's coverage this time next year. Sure we may miss some things, but that's why God invented the REPLAY!

Maybe CH10 didn't try too hard to retain the rights to the V8s so that Mabs will send his emails to CH7 instead.

One change that may be noticable next year is the commentary style. Sevens head of sport, a complete sports nut, likes the commentators to leave the sounds of silence or the crowd to tell the story. For instance, the Melbourne cup last year, following the call of the race and results, it was thrown back to Bruce and the others in the box. For the next 4 minutes all we heard was the crowd. |

I will not miss late night V8's
Round 12 Friday Race 1 3:20pm - 4:10pm Saturday Race 2 37 11:00am - 12:05pm Race 3 3:00pm - 4:05pm Telecast Times Friday Race 1 11:30pm - TBA (Over 10 hours delayed WST, over 8 hours and 30 minuets delayed CST and Over 8 hours delayed) Saturday Race 2 11:10pm - TBA (Over 14 hours delayed WST, over 12 hours and 30 minuets delayed CST and over 12 hours delayed EST) Race 3 12:40am (TBA) - TBA (Almost 12 hours delayed WST, almost 10 hours and 30 minuets delayed CST and almost 10 hours delayed) Round 2 - 7 Saturday Race 1 10:30pm at the earliest or sometimes as late at 2:00am That is how bad ch10 treat the V8's. Can't wait until it goes to ch7. |

Wont miss Cromley explaining Watts Linkages.
In general Neil is goodish, but how many times do we have to hear him explain what the Watts Linkage is? And the bolt that breaks causing the rear axle assy to slap around... |
