Excellent intro as ever, full of information.
I'm looking forward to this weekend; Monaco and the Indy 500. |

the train strike is now a traditional thing, they do it to get a long weekend. in reality it makes less and less of an impact on the train service every year. if it's going to happen they give reasonable notice on the paca-ter website. to be honest i drive closer and catch a train from eze. harder to actually fit in a carriage on sunday morning in particular, but better for service.
sometimes the italians strike as well but i'm not sure how they handle it. otherwise... monaco lovely, weather great, some really fascinating stuff happening in the support races. it's quiet this year though, definitely. i don't think it's a reflection on f1, or the popularity of the event, more a demonstration of the political situation in france and what the relevant wealthy people think about it. |

Yes, I parked in the bus stop layby opposite the station there one year. The train was SO packed, someones mobile went off and they couldnt get it out of their pocket! Instead of queuing to get back to Eze station, try a taxi from Monaco, a very reasonable 10 Euros, even on race day. |

Right, just watched the last of FP2 on the ole PVR and....crikey, I love the Monaco GP!
But, with all due respect fellas; 90 mins. of FP with all those great onboards and nary a one where the BBC1 announcers were not yapping away the entire time. Oh well, must just be me (or you'd think they'd shut the heck up every now and then...for the odd onboard anyhow). Okay, got that off my chest...as we were. |

OK, so Massa, Sutil and Crashean all managed to crash in FP3
I wonder if they will make it to qualifying? |

Lots of crashes this last free practice, and lots of drivers struggling to find clean air. It was ugly, and Q1 will probably be the same.
What the hell was Grosjean trying to do ? |

Just back from FP3. Couple of things to note, the Sauber's looked very impressive at the chicane and Guttierez had great traction and confidence through there. The McLaren looked like a handful through the session with Button looking very loose at a lot of corners, he had a huge slide through Casino Square that he was very lucky to collect.
Under braking for Mirabau there was a lot of cars looking up but the Lotus seemed to have superb traction and Raikkonen had a lot of confidence in the front end and was on the power early and hard. He could be a challenger in quali but he'll probably have to settle for a top four spot. Rosberg looked mega pretty much everywhere Just been told that Massa is to take a gearbox change as well |

Great Q, Rosberg doing much better than I expected against Lewis.
Vettel almost did it with a car that is slower over a lap than Mercedes, without those little errors in the last sector it would've been a perfect chance to win easily tomorrow. Still 0.2 clear from Webber nevertherless... And again Kimi infront of Alonso with a slower car, Alo must be a little disappointed. Not even these useless tyres will prevent a Mercedes parade tomorrow I think. |

So another Mercedes front row. It's all going to be about pit stops.

I think it's all going to be about that first corner and pit stop errors.

Will Mercedes GP cars resist and finish on front positions this race?
