Looks like F4 is winning that whole Formula 4/GB3/4 war, pointless that it is that it happened in the first place
Here's an idea that's only been posted 1000 times on here: How about one strong single seater series instead of three competing at a similar level for the same talent pool? |

GB4 is club racing for those with no money. F4 is about four times the budget. |

Butcher on pole, as last year when he won race one and two.
All the championship contenders are well placed, except Turkington a little farther back, so looks like the points will close in tomorrow! Regarding the support races, a double win in Juniors for Rowledge puts him over 100 points clear in the championship. Kellett retired from Supercup with Emson winning. Weller took the win in the Minis, now with a fairly conclusive lead in the points, and Gray was victorious in F4. Will Powell was reprimanded for an incident with Collard in FP1, and also looked to be involved in Moffat's qualifying spin... Not sure Chilton on Taylor-Smith will be looked at too kindly either. Lord Gow needs an exiting Brands finale! hope for Tingram's sake he can keep Sutton behind or his title bid is over |

Looking at the main 4 in the championship, their position on the grid order is where you'd expect based on hybrid allocation.
Aside from Ingram, each of them has someone else in the same machinery that suggests their pace is genuine. Hill did well to be the leading BMW. But Ingram's must surely be the best result when you compare the other i30s? |

Always knew Turkington would suffer, it seems Hill can drag more out of the car than Colin?

Good lap from Butcher to go on pole. Team mate Collard up there too in 6th. Hill good second, his team mates a bit down

It is the simplest circuit on the calendar, and so the hardest for a driver to find that 'edge' over another I would expect. At other more complex layouts, there is more chance for a top level driver to find some way of compensating for the HEMS. Here, there is not that scope - and so it would be expected that Turkington suffers the most from HEMS, followed by championship order. |

Drama for Turks... SC seems a perfect chance for Hill to take the lead.
Quite terrible driving standards in the second half of the grid. |

Anyway, seems Sutton doesn't have pace to really fight for win today, Turks may scramble a few points but even a reversed grid might be difficult to achieve. All depends on his pace in R2 (and whether some ping pong players won't eliminate him again). All in all, seems a tough uphill battle for Colin to keep his title hopes alive especially if Hill, Sutton and Ingram keep scoring big points.

I would say he was the victim of touring car drivers expecting cars to be more like tanks when driving them.
The 'fragility' is what has prevented his weekend from being entirely ruined by a single incident. The damage was easily repairable - as demonstrated by the car getting back out before the end of the race. If that was not built into the NGTC design, there is more likelihood of another part of the suspension or even the engine or transmission being damaged. Remember - as long as touring car drivers still think it is acceptable to bash into each other, then the forces generated during the impact have to be dissipated somewhere. The outer part of the steering is relatively simple and cheap to repair compared to some other parts of the suspension and transmission. |

It was Cook who initially came together with Turkington, though not sure who's fault it was.
