Well, don't get me wrong. All that irony in my messages on WTCC appears only because its promoters set it too high. I can not say even in general words why I think so. In the nearest future I'll try to explain my opinion in details. Every racing class should have its place. That 'group' division was a great thing.
So,the best way for DTM - mix of Group5 (DTM with work teams) and Group2(Superstars with private teams, for example tuning firms) starting together.

I agree with all of you: better to have 2 half good series than 1 not so good series...

I think, saloon car racing should promote the cars themselves, F1 & prototype can promote the make or their image.

Bad example: Citroen wins WRC-titles in a row, but you can't buy a sporty C4 at the citroen dealer...useless!!!!
At Ford you can buy a Focus RS and by subaru you get a WRX STI. Transfers the rally legend to the production cars.

Good example: DTM 87-92 - I don't remember any car-affiliated boy at my school(s), who wasn't wishing a BMW M3 E30 or an Mercedes 190 Evo 1/2 as his dreamcar! We don't dream of porsches, ferraris, etc. - we would like to drive such cars with big wings...
Ok, it was the 80s and we were all crazy and young (wearing leggings etc.)...

I would buy a BMW 320si, if it looks like the WTCC-car (except the stripes etc), but they only made a street-320si which looks like any other E90...
Very boring.
