Surely the time comes when the cost of Maldonado's utter ****wittedness outweighs the money he brings?

That was rather special from Hamilton. Really looked like Rosberg had the upper hand...bit of a blow for Britney.

Lotus would genuinely be better off with Max Chilton or Alex Yoong or someone. Great session anyhow. Loving these cars and how they squirm around. Barcelona is a nice track, despite it generally holding a poor race, it is good to see it working the drivers hard once again. Bottas and Romain the standouts! Great mini recovery by Lewis as well. Sad to see the Red Bull #2 having the usual car issues, you'd think they'd have sorted that out after all these years. |

Good jobs done by Grosjean and Bottas, and indeed by Chilton. Not only did he save a nice little slide but he also beat his teammate by 6/10th of a second.

Good to see Team Willie (Bottas) getting a good grid position. I think I heard DC say that Massa lost 0.7 sec in the last sector, which was just about the whole difference between him and Bottas. So, a little driver error that prevented him being just ahead or just behind his team-mate.
Also a stirring performance from Fat John in Q3. So the Lotus has got some performance in it. Maldonado looked a prat: why didn't he just let it spin down the road? Iceman got himself up on a par with Teflonso, which was nice to see. I predict Alonso will do him at the start though. I can't resist a little schadenfreude when more gremlins show themselves in Vettel's car, while Ricciardo shows that there's nothing at all wrong with the chassis. Everyone who qualified below par was complaining about lack of rear grip. And everyone who qualified well was complaining about lack of rear grip. |

Is he though? He won this very race two years ago in a Williams, holding off Alonso of all people.
Was someone else wearing his helmet that day I wonder? |

Mathematical probability. I'm sure we could all win about one race in a million. It's just that his came rather early in the cycle.

Completely missed Quali but I thought Lewis might get pole, followed by Nico but I was surprised to see Vettel down in 10th behind Button!
Was there an issue with Vettel's car/pu? |

Insane, irrational, overly emotional, one-off winner.
