For tv scheduling, basically.
To avoid a clash with the football. |

I think both of them are on some satellite, so combined with Radio Le Mans from the net it should be possible to enjoy almost the whole race anywhere in northen Europe. |

Of course the United States Grand Prix will be live.
The only thing that's on ITV 2 is the post-race discussion, not any actual action. |

Is it the start of the coverage or the end which is going to be switched to ITV2?

I have never understood why, with 4 channels, Sky sports doesn't buy the whole thing - Exclusive rights in exchange for uninterupted showing (bar adverts). |

if the safety car comes out (which it usually does in Montreal) then we're screwed.
First last weeks Moto gp race now F1. Death to football. Specially george cross wearing overweight skin heads. |

Not true, Alesi95.
The race can't last more than 2 hours - they are compelled to show the race until it finishes. Therefore, in the event the race overruns, it will stay on ITV1. The football doesn't kick off till 1945. |

Yes, there should easily be enough time for the race to run. With plenty of time to spare.

Not if the race is stopped though.....there could be problems then as the timers freeze until the restart.

F1 tries to avoid red flags, so don't worry!

I doubt it will be stopped. The chances of that are very small. And F1, unless 90% of the cars are in flames, always puts out the safety car.
