dj choc ice should be qualifying in the top 10 on the griddj choc ice should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Final one, smacks of desperation but is it the lack of aerials on the roof? I'm going to say the wheels as well like everyone else seems to be. Final observation, but from looking at period pictures the silk cut purple seems a bit too purple, in period pictures it looks a bit darker, more violety in fact.

The small inlet just behind the front wheel? The P&O logos?

Well some did, but the question was specifically about the XJR-9 during the era it raced. I don't recall the -9 running BBS in Group C or in IMSA GTP during the time it raced. The only picture I can see with off brand wheels is of the XJR-16 with BBS type wheels circa 1991. I think Jaguar usually ran Speedlines?

Isn't the bolded bit from Gingers4Justice's post the correct answer? And it's the second post in the thread.

Yeah ..... its the wheels .

Jag didnt begin to use BBS until 1990 ..... along with Goodyear at least in Group C , and they had issue with rim spin . Sounds rude , but it was about the tyre revolving on the rim .

The proper wheel should be a Speedline ..... or possibily a MelMag .

Anyway Mike ..... you should stay outta this , you know way way tooo much mate !!!

Hey .... I owe someone a beer in France next June ? Guess you wont be there Mike ?

I recall an XJR-? ..... with no lights at all . Weight saving makes sense . Especially if you can redistrabute it .
