I've also been selected as I.O. so once you know what post i'm on you'll also know where the incidents will happen! At the moment I'm planning on camping, unless I can find a reasonably priced hotel (bearing in mind it is London!)

I walked round Battersea Park last night and nearly got locked in, another story. You can comfortably get two cars (or three at a tight pinch) down the roads but what amazed me was the camber of the road and the height of the crown of the road. Inside the corner it's going to act like banking, on the crown they're going to be not far off beaching and on the outside it's going to be a wall of doom adverse camber. Tricky. At present all of the road (track) has 3 - 4 inch kerbing all round that should make track limits violations a no go and as for all the very large trees you just don't want to get airborne. I'm assuming (hopefully) that all the lamp-posts will be taken down? The start finish straight is long and some of the corners are going to be fast with acute camber changes. Velly interesting.

It will be interesting to see how they make it into a race circuit. All the circuits so far have been quite closed in with concrete walls all round. Maybe the park will have the scope for being a bit more open with some run-off areas?

I don't think so.Some conservationist will object to taling down trees or lamposts? I expect to see some sort of barriers if this ever happens-who needs boring run off areas? I last walked round Batersea Park in the 50s-don't think it has changed much-if they just needed a circuit they could move it to Brands?

Sadly it seems the grass is being ripped up and more tarmac laid. Destroys a lot of green credibility. Looks like they are doubling the width of the internal "roads" All I can find is a face book link of the work in progress https://www.facebook.com/batterFormE...type=1&theater |
