Jose Cordova and Gil de Ferran were both engineered by my own star FF1600 engineer - who will be engineering my new top-line Swift SC95 for whomsoever may want to rent it for the Festival/Walter Hayes etc...

Justin, Alan Mitchell's Amity Racing FF nostalgia site is www.the-goodtimes.co.uk
John, do you mean Colin? I remember him on Gil's car for a while but José's car was run by Kenny Dornan. Kenny then went on to run José's Fulmar FF2000 car in '89 and then started their own ill fated attempt at F3 in '90 as Nemesis Racing. Big factory at Kimbolton, no money, handful of races, no results, end of José's career. Sad. The Fulmar FF engines were built by Trevor Van Rooyen, badged as Aurigas as he used their dyno, but built them at the Fulmar workshop. |

Andrew,
I thought Colin worked with Jose Cordova too but I might be wrong but he ran plenty of other top drivers too. John |

Is the Michael Dicken you mention the TalkSport Radio presenter ??? As I recall he had an Elden mk 10 fpr many years, then got an RF80. Pretty quick in outdated cars, and a real supporter of Clubbie FF in the late 70s/early 80s. |

Don;t forget that Colin also ran Dino Morelli also in 91 - so he will be used to rebuilding crashed FFs! From what I remember from those days he used to also have a very pretty daughter he used to date his driver - some Kiwi guy in 92 (think his name was Andrew something or another). Top guy Colin, send him my best. |

Colin's always tells me (alright bores me to death) he engineered top drivers and now he works (in 1600) with me.
He is a very good engineer though, especially with cars/eras he knows. Like, he had my Vauxhall Lotus handling like a dream from the first time I drove it. Come and say hello to us next time (BARC SEC Silverstone Stowe 14th March? followed by Silverstone Nat 20th/21st March). What are you doing car wise now (Pete Alexander mentioned to me yesterday he has some RF99/00 uprights he might be willing to sell)? Last edited by JohnMiller; 20 Jan 2004 at 15:48. |

The Kiwi driver was Andrew Neale, he disappeared after a monster shunt at Thruxton left him with broken heels [IIRC]

I am looking for color photos of the works Swift SE3's that competed in 1988 in both the BBC Grandstand FF2000 Championship and the Mobil 1 British FF2000 championship. These cars were sponsored by Texaco and driven by Cal Foster, Elio Seikel, and Richard Dean. Any information about these cars would be greatly appreciated. Would also like to find photos/info of Harvey Gillanders Swift of the same period.

Does anyone have anything on the cancelled 1986 FF1160 race at the Birmingham Superprix as well as the 1987 race at the same circuit?
Finally does anyone know how to contact Dave Morgan and Mark Bryan as well? If so, please PM me. Thank you. |

Thank you for the suggestion, I have PMed and hopefully he will help me out.
Meanwhile from my website: Does anyone have anything from the 1986 and 1987 Birmingham Superprix, I am in contact with a former FF1160 racer who used an alias! His stories at the BSP are very interesting, hopefully I will put them up on my website soon. |

Does anyone else remember the very early days of FF1600 at Snetterton ,when if I recall correctly the drivers had a rev limit put on them ,supposedly to even out drivers abilities, instead it made for very long, sometimes tedious races.Think it had something to do with Jim Russel drivers school being at snetterton?

Yes, the Jim Russell cars had a rev limit. The trouble was the tacho had a telltale reset button (don't forget they were mechanical in those days!) so - apparently - if you slackened your belts, it was possible to reach behind the dash & reset it, then rev the engine to the set limit and no-one was any the wiser...

http://www.flickr.com/search/?ss=2&w...d+1600+&m=text Lots of recent pictures so you'll have to dig around for '80s stuff but I'm sure is is lots on there. Good luck! |

Hi, I'm Mark Bryan. I raced (or qualified at least as it cancelled due to rain) in 1986 Superprix and 1987. Have some photo's if you want copies. Cheers Mark

Hi Mark,
Thanks for contributing. If there's any chance you could scan and post a couple of pics on the thread that would be nice. |
