The IRL website says that the track is 'now being dried' and that the race is scheduled to begin at 1pm local time. It also says that it's currently overcast with a 60% chance of rain.
Hopefully it'll stay dry, I've got my day planned out: Monaco and now the Indy 500. I live a full life. |

Typical, the website doesn't want to work now. The IMS radio took forever to stream and the video was hopeless. Probably too many people trying to watch/listen at once.
At least I saw who won! |

Good stuff. The laps after the stoppage were great to watch. Those AGR cars were going for it. Shame the end didn't go all the way, but it was entertaining even in a comedy way at the end.

It was a fun race all day really. The threat of rain meant everyone had a "take no prisoners" approach. Thoroughly enjoyable when we could see it!
Just wish we'd seen Dario cross the line and celebrate. |

Congratulations to Franchitti, he'd run well after the rain delay. Wish I could have seen it instead of Sky's desperate padding, but I'll record the highlights and hopefully catch it then.

Perhaps the US is really a third world country. After all, you can get live pictures from Darfur. Indiana must be a bit more primitive.

It has been the first time I have watched the Indy 500 in full and I enjoyed it. I am annoyed that I didn't get to see Dario take the chequred flag however and I would have liked to have seen the winners circle. I think losing the coverage the way they did was pretty poor IMHO.

Hey-ho fellas.
The finish video has just been posted on the IRL site: http://www.indycar.com/multimedia/vi...ayer.php?v=623 How pale was Keith by the end of the show?! hehe! |

A great two races - erm, Indy 500. Great to see Dario at the top again, not the runaway Penske & Ganassi fight expected which helps to tighten up the championship - in fact, AGR were competitive all day - hope they keep this form up and give us 8 cars battling for wins then just the 4 we've seen so far.

I've just seen the Marco crash which stopped the race and I have to say I think he is a very lucky boy indeed - to flip at such high speed reminds me of all too many nasty accidents. And I'm sorry to say that in this case I think it was his own fault too. He just drove into Dan who was miles faster, albeit slightly because Marco was boxed in, but still you can't shove your way out at 200mph.
Mind you having nearly got away with a shameful block on Sam Hornish last year maybe thought it was allowed..... |

What Transmission Failure?
Came in fine on Cable In North Carolina.
Dario is a great guy and it was good to see him win, although the first "finish" was good, also. |

Only overseas markets lost coverage. It was flawless in North America.

Sky showed a full rerun this morning including the ending. Marco ws very lucky to walk away from that big smash. Poor Dario was speechless at the end!

Watching Sky's replay, Marco crash was spectacular and thankfully not as violent as some who have become airborne. Even if he didn't finish, it seems he's banished the oval demons that have ruined his season thus far.
Expected more from Wheldon given his pace earlier in the month. I though Kanaan was unlucky, probably the quickest driver throughout the day. Congratulations to Franchitti; having now seen the post race interview it clearly meant a huge amount to him. |

Poor Dario!
Well, I must confess, I didn't have Dario down as a candidate for a win. But I am so very, very pleased he did it. Such a nice guy and he made a great fight with my driver back in Champcar in 1999. I have the utmost respect for him and I just thought his time in IRL/Indycar was getting worse. This is a great tonic though and hopefully Dario will get back to his brilliant best again. What a great result. |
