pb btcc should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Has far has I heard Rick Kramer is the oldest driver at 52 and Annie Templeton is nearly 50 so it just proves U don't have to be 49 to Reitre.

Suzy should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hi folks

Tim Harvey is one cool guy. I see him quite a lot because he lives very near to me and he's often round my village - and trashing lamposts too If you're reading Tim, I know YOU weren't driving on the occasion two days before the Silverstone night race but it just had to be you But seriously he's always got time for people and willing to talk; I think we held everybody up during the pit walkabout as soon as we got chatting so apologies for that.

I met John B&Q at the Silverstone race too - hi John! - and he was really nice as well. I'll have to scan in the picture I took of you.

But I must admit I've liked all the drivers I've met - even Alain Menu was nice. It was a very cold day in October 1997 at the BTCC race at Silverstone. I was waiting outside the TOCA tent for him and he took pity on me and invited me in to warm up and said he'd be with me as soon as he'd finished his interview (he kept his word too). Whilst I was waiting I found myself deep in conversation with none other than the great Murray Walker. Now, that was cool...

Best wishes

Suzy

What did Alain Menu say that made you all hate him? Sorry, but I have to know. Personally, I belive he can be arrogant but he is still a very talented driver, you have to admit that!

Can anyone answer this question? When did I beat Menu on the track at a BTCC event?

Tim Harvey is still a fine driver and seems to be a nice bloke as well. John Cleland was still on the pace up to when he jacked in the BTCC, so saying Tim's too old is a bit out of line. I bet he'd get around the circuits 20 seconds faster than us lot eh?

Bennett Fan!!!!! You know too much!!! Do you know I've been dining out on the story of how I beat Menu all year! Dammit! Now everyone Knows the dreadful truth! (Thanks for the picture by the way, I had almost forgotten what the old car looked like, I seem to remember that Knockhill was incredibly hot and Maxi Jazz (namedropper!) and I shared about 3 litres of water before the race)

I'm still sunburnt 14 months later!

Were you just learning Knockhill last year John? I remember large clouds of dust being raised at a lot of the corners by your good self.

What's your favorite corner at Knockhill? The Chicane? Duffus Dip?

None of them really!! Knockhill is a very very tight track, I think that it started life as a motorcycle track so it doesn't really lend itself to my particular style!!!!! What style? I can hear everyone saying! From a personal point of view, I don't like so many tight corners, but it does on the other hand create some very close racing and the atmosphere at the circuit is wonderful, we had a great crowd last year, so hopefully this year will be the same.

I though this topic was about Tim Harvey!!! There is no way you can say that he is too old. There are many drivers in Club events, the Historic Sports Car Club for example, who are well into their 60s or 70s.

Is Tim big-boned or something? He's awfully big for a touring car driver, let alone a racing driver.

Him and JC went drinking too much in the 90's. (But not after Silverstone '92!)

I would have thought that after Silverstone 1992 it would have been John Cleland and Steve Soper no longer being drinking buddies.
