And no more winglets on the backside of the wheels, overall, not a bad idea - for DTM anyway, not sure I'd like it for SGT.
Edit, ermm wait: rear fender might still mean winglets. Oh bother.... Last edited by Speed-King; 13 Jan 2010 at 19:14. |

This is worrying!!!! The Beauty of SuperGt is that its completely unique to all the race series the world over. The cars look and sound a distinct way and its doing pretty well for a national championship. When i first heard about DTM Super Gt merger, i was hoping that both series keep their independent style and when they do meet for one off or invitation races, ballast or air restrictors even up the field. but by the sounds of things this is sounding more restrictive than grand am

Now why would they want to go and change the engine regulations which they just did and are geared towards cost reduction through and engine which can be used in various series? Also, Super GT currently uses 1 engine for 4 races right? I hope they aren't thinking of a drastic power reduction. So all cars will share a monocoque and floor? That's not so bad, the front and rear subframes and the suspensions connected to them will still be different. I think they will still be able to keep their uniqueness depending on where the design line is. |

Sorry, usage restrictions of the engine have not been decided yet.
It is a proposal that ITR did. |

So would that be a common monocoque for Nissan's, Honda's and Toyota's front engined cars but also for Mercedes' entry (SLS?) More problematic would be Audi's (big front engined coupé that they don't build or a sedan when other race coupés), BMW (they probably prefer their racing M3s to be road car based) and manufacturers like Alfa or Opel that don't make cars anywhere close to those.
Anyways there's a danger that cars start looking like the NASCAR COT when you change their normal proportions... |

According to AUTOSPORT, the union monocoque is bathtub shape.
The shape of the cabin is the same as the base vehicle. |

Team RE-amemiya(#7) announced the driver lineup at this season.
It is Nobuteru Taniguchi and Ryo Orime as well as last season. The car is RX-7. However, it becomes the last season for RX-7. http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/race/index2.html http://plus-u.jp/blog/amasan/?p=1835 |

Yes, the roll cage is united to this "bathtub". Team Cars Tokai Dream28(#2) announced the driver line-up at this season. It is Hiroki Kato and Hiroshi Hamaguchi(Rookie). We can see Shiden this year, too. http://www.hondacars-tokai.com/carst...1/supergt.html I don't think that there is Amemiya's withdrawals because they have a rich sponsor. |

It is said that the driver lineup of Lexus will not be decided until it is decided whether Kazuki Nakajima can acquire the F1 seat.
Team Mach(#5) announced that they used Vemac 408R at this season. It might be a chassis that Team R&D sport had used before. They plan to install the Porsche engine in this chassis (Former engine is Mugen 408S/458S). |

And the Honda engine is the same as the Acura/HPD LMP2 engine, according to the Honda HSV GT500's profile at Ultimate Car Page.
