The going rate for the lesser 1:43's at the circuit was 27 Euros. The more sought after models (the more recent Le Mans cars) were anything from 35 Euros upwards. So if you want models when you come to Le Mans p, better bring a stash of cash with you. |

Steve, not spoted you here before, good to "see" you and marvellous to see you out there in the thick of the action at Le Mans.
(I'll let you have the link to your site on the last post, but no more - or I'll get into trouble!) Last edited by Aysedasi; 20 Jun 2003 at 13:31. |

No, I'm more a regular on the marshals forum, but Le Mans is my passion.
And after what happened at Goodwood to me three years ago, I never thought I'd ever be at Le Mans ever again! If the penny's not dropped yet (I have been on TV more than my fair share since then!) take a look at my website to see why ................! Steve |

BTW, my words were not adaptated, and could let think that you thought it was a toy, and I assume you don't think so... I just wanted to point out that - for France - it's quite pricey for 'serious' grown up models... you can be sure nobody here thought you took those for toys ... I don't now the level of the prices for those things elsewhere in the world, but if you bought some for 5 £, buy more ! I'd like to have a collection of some GTs (I have a Daytona and a Panoz)... You don´t really know HOW EXPENSIVE are this 1/43 cars in spain. A spark model (35 euros there, I bought a 2002 LMP675 reynard) cost about 45 in spain. Ixo (25 euros there) is about 35-40 in madrid...
I am investing fortune in those little beauties |

OK, let's leave the 1:43's - I'm sure someone can start/restart a thread in "AE" on this. How did we get to here anyway after Fab wondered where I'd got to? I'm actually very depressed. Its Monday lunchtime and I've been back to work since 8 a.m. I just can't believe that two weeks leave (with Le Mans in the middle) could go so fast. But then again, it always does, doesn't it? Anyone got any plans for a time machine lying around.......?

My sole relief : a GT race at LM in July, a Classic week-end in September, and the 6 hours of LM in November (can't wait to see this one !) But it's definitely difficult to face that we're gone for months of waiting... |

Just wanted to point out that Ayse posted the first part of the Tourists' 2003' story on his site, fun and full of memories as always... Ayse, missing on the bottom of the second column : TryHard (AKA Ed), Ricardo (Javi's father and team mate) and Dominique (Bernard's team mate)... and Kpy (AKA Christopher) !

Of course - I had a feeling you would supply me with the missing names Fab. Thanks for that.
Yes, Part 1 of the Tourists story is now up. There will probably be another 3 parts yet. I hope to have the whole thing done by the end of July. (Yes, a long time, but it took me until April 2003 to do the Le Mans 2002 story!). By the way - I am now back....... (thinking of the title of this thread..... ) |
