Well done indeed, good performance.
And if the Ayrton quote from martin-1 is true, then he'll go far I think. It would be easy for me to say he's only winning because he has the money, and a name - but a) everyone in a top car has the money, and b) a name can (IMO) be just as much a hindrance as a help. Good luck to him! |

Aye, thats what I was trying to say (apparently I didn't say it well).
Regardless of everything, he still has to drive it |

Motorsport at this level tends to be about cynicism, sniping, allegation and counter allegation.
So on this occasion it's great to put that to one side, allow a bit of old fashioned emotion and think how I'm delighted to see the Senna name back on the top of the podium. Such a tragedy Ayrton's not around to see it. |

Yes.
Hmmm.....I may have said Bruno would do well this year with a hint of favouritism but I feel quite smug. I'm very pleased he's made such a start! |

Lets not forget Rodolfo Gonzalez' double in the national class, well done Rodolfo. Unfortunate that, that field is not as strong as perhaps it could be. |

Just got back, Bruno Senna has impressed me all weekend and 2 drives today where worthy of the Senna name IMO. BTW where did the safety car finish in Race 1?

Well thats blown my prediction of it being a Jarvis/Conway battle out of the water!!
Have to say a terrific well done to Bruno today, his drives were quite simply magnificent and as has been pointed out worthy of the Senna name! Now comes the real test - consistency - can Bruno show his undoubted talent over a season and claim the crown? On today's evidence the answer would be yes but we all know Mike Conway will be gunning for him more than ever now and last year Bruno had his good days and his bad. Will also be interesting to see how he copes in the pack when he isn't out front - last season he got involved in too many silly scrapes and will have to avoid them if he is to win this championship! Good luck to him though, I really hope he does it as it would be fantastic for British F3 and motor racing in general! |

Two excellent drives from Senna, the first race would have been an even mroe dominant victory had it not been for the (numerous) safety car periods. I was impressed by Mario Engel as well, he seemed a lot better than I would have expected. Senna certainly looks like he is going to be a very strong title contender, indeed probably the favourite after this weekend, although Conway is likely to get a lot stronger and Jarvis / Carlin will be winnign soon.

i know the comparisons are inevitable, but please, see bruno as his own driver and an individual first and foremost before making any comparisons to his uncle. also please feel free to start a new thread to discuss his driving potential, its what that button up there in the forum window is for
the races today make it 5 wins in a row for bruno. not too many drivers around who can say that at the moment, are there? |

I was at Shell Oils hairpin today, and the 38 car driver was mouthing off at Kako after she binned him into a spin on the exit of the hairpin.
Quite a lot of action down the hairpin today, 3 cars off in first race and 2 spinners in the second! Last edited by Sodemo; 17 Apr 2006 at 20:53. |

I'm as pleased as anyone else about Bruno winning. He is a credit to the family name and it was great that his mum was there today to see his success. But before we all get too excited, there are a couple of points to make.
The first is that Danilo Dirani completely dominated the first meeting of last season, but never won another race. I don't think that will happen to Bruno, but you get my drift... The second is that Double R really did have an excellent car this weekend. It helped Stephen Jelley get a close second and fastest lap in race 1. For whatever reason, Conway's car didn't seem to be quite there. And I, for one, am pleased that the expected Mercedes domination hasn't happened yet. Oli Jarvis was 3rd in race 1 and Christian Bakkerud runner-up in race 2. In fact Carlin had three cars in contention in both races. |
