And the Toyota near misses. A triple-pack of runner-up finishes:
1992: Sekiya/Raphanel/Acheson - TS010 1994: Irvine/Martini/Krosnoff - 94C-V 1999: Katayama/Tsuchiya/Suzuki - GT-One (TS020) Pretty stirring stuff. If people haven't seen it the second half of this Shakedown episode is a really good illustration of what Toyota have put into the event: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6DVJgvA560 It's time... |

Ford..... have won it .
Brundle..... has won it . Toyota..... are tryin hard , and it must hurt that only Mazda from Japan has done it . Ferrari..... obviously arnt interesred , their interested in F1 only . Lots of Peugeot drivers, for various reasons. Porsche...... won more than any other mark . BENTLEY..... has won it . Enough to be going on with? Oh of course not.... Dunlop..... has won it heaps of time . Most of the above choices have won it , hardly unfinished business . |

I know most of my list HAVE won it.
They are also aware that they won it a LONG time back. Time to refresh the halo... |

Could this be the way that Alpine/Renault end up back at Le Mans?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/...ports-car.html Hopefully they will have racing ambitions beyond an F1 badging exercise... |

A return for renault will certainly make it easier for Le mans to attract the local's. It looks good aswell

Hey that was actually a very good short video, well worth watching, lets hope that if the new alpine does go into production however that it does show an ability to outclass the original one a little more convincingly.

Maybe a new driver in the #2 will galvanise them next year and give them that bit extra they have been missing.

Just watching the Le Mans 2012 dvd (again) and watching Seth Neiman chuck off the Flying Lizard Am car and the Pro car also go out following an accident.
For a team of their stature the Lizards really do have unfinished business. Neiman himself has entered the race for every year since 2005. He's done no better than third in class on that first outing. Bergmeister and Long won with other teams and then as soon as they hooked up with FL their results just nose-dived. I suppose this could be a case of a race just being too cruel to a team. |
