OVERSTEER should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
By my reckoning TMSR and GR are talking a load of Bullsh*t about the plans that they're making.

I don't think I said that GA had ever built a BTCT car, but GA tried to get Alfa support on the back of running those production 156's.

GA courted Alfa when they were still in National Saloons and when they entered class B BTCC.

Yeh but some cases you have to take with a pinch of salt, a lot of teams will try to talk up their campaign to get more potential sponsors on board.

There was definitely a 2nd Lexus almost ready to run, for I have seen it.

All the Lexi are at VLR. TMSRVLR as it was to be known-split up and TMSR could not afford the work that had been done by VLR when they were TMSRVLR. So VLR is now awaiting payment for the work they did on TMSR's car. It was going to be free when it was TMSRVLR but when they split VLR told TMSR that now they are no longer together as TMSRVLR that TMSR would have to pay for all the work Vic did on the car. And when they couldn't VLR kept the car from TMSR. Well at least that is my understanding of the situation.

Basically VLR did work TMSR knew they couldn't afford. But they wouldn't have had to pay if they done a joint assault with Lexi.

So in other words - no funds! If they can't find the money to pay VLR, how will they fund the conversion of cars to ETCC spec and run them. As we said a pure pipedream.

If the TMSRVLR thing is correct, then this is the 2nd 'falling out' that TMSR has had in a year of existence, having split with ABG halfway through lst year.

Although that was as TMSR wanted to join Janspeed to get more performance.

I believe the basis of the TMSR/ABG deal was as follows IMHO:

TMSR provided the start up finance and a degree of the running costs. ABG provided the workshop facilities, team personnel, and team trucks, etc. The plan was to combine their respective resources to 'secure' a works deal from Lexus for 2002.

I think what probably happened is that the ABG part of the partnership probably grew tired of funding their part of the team that was clearly going nowhere and unlikely to secure a factory deal - and subsequently pulled out.

The Janspeed episode is almost a foil really, as their experience lies in exhaust and related engine development, the 'problem' with the Lexus, was IMHO ,related to suspension layout and related handling problems, not engine power.

Janspeed were able to provide an immediate workshop facility and GA Racing an 'on-event' hands on team.

Clearly at this point, Janspeed were an organisation in financial difficulty and subsequently went into receivership in a matter of months.

The TMSR/GA/Janspeed 'relationship' was IMHO a marriage of immediate convenience and clearly provided no performance advantage. IMO TMSR had gone down a blind alley with the car and were unable to extract anymore performance from what was obviously a potential race winner in the right hands.

Does anyone here really know what the true situation with Lexus and TMSR is, I think not. I know they will be doing the ETCC next year and with the way the BTCC is at the moment won't be returning to it.
The Lexus wouldn't look good in pink with a gold stripe anyway.
So unless anyone really knows the full story as to what going on maybe it would be best not to comment on the situation untill you do know whats happening.

But that's the thing Daz, we've been told several times what's happening and it never comes to fruition. You have to forgive people for never believing anything from TMSR.

Good to hear it's 100% confirmed then and we will definitely see TMSR running Lexus's next year. I look forward to seeing them.

I'll believe it when I see it!! Just how many times have ABG/TMSR/Janspeed/VLR promised something was going to happen with the Lexus ? Every single time it's 'definite, just wait and see' or 'its just a short delay, it'll happen soon...'
