When was the last time cosworth won a gp?
Hopefully with 3 teams giving feedback, cosworth can have a serious dip & hang aroung f1 for a few years... |

If Manor are linked to Nick Wirth then you may well remember Wirth/Simtek had links to Max in their prevous incarnation. Nick Wirth was very much a favoured son of Max, and I believe Bernie?

Some spanish newspapers are saying that Ferrari says it will not participate in 2010... I am quite sure that is a misunderstanding of the statement mentioned above

Who are Manor F1? Where are they based etc? I don't even remember them being mentioned on here before.

At least 2 of the 3 teams announced are 'weaker' than several not listed (yet). I think the FIA is helping them out (easier to raise funds with a confirmed slot), while keeping strong entries back to help beat up FOTA.
I bet this list changes by at least 2 names ... |

Brawn, although they owe their existence to FOTA,are not part of any 'pact',and so if survival is all important............

Will Prodrive have been overlooked as they were given a grid slot a few years back but decided not to use it as they wanted to tun a customer car?

You're right about the "provocative" part, as it stands, Ferrari has all set to go for a legal action against the FIA if FOTA conditions would not be accepted in the negotiations ahead. As I know now, they're going for a group action as FOTA, but if there would be no agreement they're prepared to leave right away with or without the others. At this point, soon it will be public, as we know now, Ferrari is pretty much "out of" the 2010 season, even if its name is listed unconditionally. I wouldn't be surprised if it all turn the tables in months to come, a new concorde agreement and a new exclusive contract with Ferrari - people can shout in anger now - that's sad I know, but it's do or die, like in 2005. Renault is another special case, don't hold your breath for them, I would pretty much say that if a single comma is missing in the conditions proposed by FOTA, they'll be gone for good. They want a excuse, they got it. What really is puzzling is that FOTA doesn't blink with Bernie's threats, pretty much the contrary. Yeah, the agony will stay for a while, Max still will be around if he agrees with FOTA demands, which is very likely. I can only hope that something goes very bad in the next weeks... it can happen, it must happen ! |

Before everyone gets too excited here, can I just remind you that there is very little connection between the present company called Cosworth, and the one responsible for the DFV and other later F1 engines.

No.They would have entered had the regulations allowed customer cars.As usual there were some protests, and customer cars were ruled out.Prodrive therefore did not enter,so not their fault really.
