I think just 4 ovals would be great. Michigan definitely but it's making them work. I'm sure they would be very popular to most Champ Car fans overall but the audience isn't there anymore unfortunately.

Even if it was just 1 oval race at Michigan as part of the CCWS schedule I doubt it would make a difference unfortunately.

Plus ISC never promoted the IRL race there as it's competition for NASCAR's events there. They would do the same for CC so it's sad but the reality is I doubt CC would draw IMHO. Alot of the ovals are now owned by ISC which is the problem.

I would very much like to see ovals again but I don't know where, when and how.

What about sharing with the IRL ala the Indy 500 at two or three of the more significant ovals they run on?

A lot of people say CC and IRL should share running events on the same weekend, I personally don't see the point for it well I don't think the propostion would be a good idea. If you are at the same event you may as well race in the same race as a merged series or event. But that won't happen.

I was thinking it would increase crowds for the cameras, which is important, and it would also force exposure of the alternative series to the ideologues of each side.

I agree that a merger is not going to happen. This means the choices are to try and do things that help both series, or let the two sides try and war the other out of existence.

I would prefer the more cooperative approach, but, well, I guess, that is not going to happen (for the same reasons a merger won't).

It is all so depressing.

The official line from Champcar is that ovals shall return when the fans demand such. Fans wanted Road America and champcar worked to bring it back. The same can happen for ovals. Champcar just hasn't heard enough noise from the fans to push that forward.

I guess we should start petitioning them, then.
