Spider!...At last someone one knows the important of top level karting. Also remember Liuzzi is managed by Peter Collins who was 'bowled-over' when he spied out the International karting scene 10 years ago, a few karters slipped through his fingers but like Flavio he knew were to do his shopping!

Indeed - get them signed up young, and with the right driver, you'll reap the rewards.

All the formulae are not necessarily important, Logrence.
Gabriele Tarquini went karting-F3000-F1. |

There are some breathtaking drivers in the British kart scene also, and a close friend of mine - Daniel Faulkner won the Super 1 Championship last year, but hasn't progressed, and is now owner of his own kart outfit - at the age of 18! There are some real gems out there, and a wise connected guy who has the time to do some research will unearth some potential stars. Michael will have talked to Liuzzi, and would have done his research on him before and after the race - Michael, being the best, knows what it takes, and u really can tell who's got the 'X' factor right from Junior karting - Michael would have known this guy was good, and he's proved it.

Tarquini was a much greater talent than his F1 CV suggests, but he made that jump in an era when very few drivers had doen a full decade of karting, as I beleive he had.

You're just as likely to find a driver in karting as you are in the Formula Dacia Mega 600 Soapbox Derby. Provided you're a half-decent scout/manager of course. |

I'm not saying a driver would turn down a drive in anything, all I'm saying is doing each and every step of the ladder isn't always required.
And the reason for scouting the karting races is to get a talent spotted at an ultra young age. |

But maybe it's just cultural thing. These kind of sports personalities are never popular in Finland, where humbleness and mild manners are a state norm. |

I thought he was only saying that because that was the reality of the situation he was in.
I didn't read it as arrogant. |

No, it wasn't arrogant.
The daft thing is, under the 'new' points system he can't even take the title as a given! |

Would be more than intersting the incoming of the new pilots of F1 for likewise would gone see the new ones who have lots of skills and Liuzzi is one of them...as well as us the venezuelans we are counting on Ernesto Viso , from the F3000 , and in a future Pastor Maldonado which is on formula Renault 2000

Viso's a talented guy.
Not absolute top drawer, I don't think - but he's exciting to watch, and with more experience under his belt could be a solid F1 driver. |
