We haven't got anything confirmed atm, however I'm sure Hyundai, Honda, BMW and Ford will still be in it, plus a few others

Jack Mitchell joins Motorbase's driver academy. So a link to Motorbase, I guess only at the expense of Ollie Jackson as the other 3 are fairly locked in!

Ash Hand is also on a 'multi-year' deal:
"The deal we have put together, I believe, gives me the best possible chance of achieving this. A multi-year deal securing my future in BTCC is the holy grail of deals as a race driver." |

With Ollie Jackson being a director at Mountune, I would expect his seat at Motorbase is fairly secure. |

Chilton has said in interview that he is on a 'minimum 2-year' deal with EXCELR8.

Deals mean very little in motorsport when one party no longer wants to play ball.

We can highlight any number of deals that have been in place, confirmed publicly and officially, and then saw the car driven by someone else (or not at all). The truth is - every driver on the grid works hard to secure their place. To make this happens, there are personal and commercial reasons for certain deals, and over time these can change. |

Multi-year deals in the BTCC in particular tend to be very much conditional. For instance, if a driver has a 2 year deal in place to drive for a team, it's more often than not conditional based on him bringing in the same level of sponsorship/funding for the 2nd year as the first, which isn't easy for many drivers. |

Yes, things can change quickly. Teams and/or manufacturers can pull out. It's good if a driver has a multi year deal, 2 years or more, but there is no guarantee he can keep it. It's not always about funding, sometimes it can be about what deal the team can get from a sponsor or manufacturer. It's often out of the drivers' hands

So - back to ten different circuits for 2023.
Good to see. |

Surprising that the calendar has been announced this early but great to see some variety. I've never been fan of double Thruxton, not that I consider it a bad track but there's nothing that justifies going there twice in the year.
So a great change for 2023, will be interesting to see BTCC back at Donington GP. |

The GP loop should provide plenty of opportunities for some door bashing, as shown by the TCR races last weekend

Good news! For me Donington is my favourite circuit for BTCC, so perfect to see the GP added on. And the first new circuit / configuration in a long time, since Silverstone Int never happened. I'm surprised the National has lasted so long, wish they could have a proper run on the whole circuit, but lots of reasons why that's not happening for the moment.
Echoing others, Thruxton I think was a poor choice for two rounds in terms of action, last weekend was pretty stagnant for BTCC standards. |

A shame that Silverstone Int never happened, it would be good to see a new layout used. What about Oulton PK Fosters or Snetterton 200?

I think you're confusing Fosters and the International layout. The International layout was last used in 2014 and was widely derided. The Fosters layout hasn't been used since the ST days, way back in 1999. |

Would the Fosters layout be any better than Island? |
