I actually was thinking differently. SC start basically guarantees that Nico comes out of the first turn in second place.

Standing start, and all bets would have been off. Would have expected a pile of cars in T1....and the grid turned on it's head. Hamilton coming out unscathed.

I would have thought an SC start is not what Lewis wants. He's a good wet weather racer and could easily build a decent lead in the first few laps, rather than being stuck behind the SC, with Nico on his tailpipe.

Makes sense. I was thinking more on the start itself. With Lewis struggling with the clutch all year, this way it makes sure he'll get to T1 first.

agreed. Lewis needs someone to pip rosberg into T1 and relegate him off the podium.

Agreed. atleast from the graphics, it was closed before Ricciardo came in to the pits. The one confusing thing is that the graphics are independent of the actual race stream. The graphic can be played over a race replay. So not sure if when we saw Ricciardo's stop, it was actually live.

You're right about the graphic, it could be delayed. But if it is, it might mean it was closed before Max was in too! We really don't know.

What we do know is Horner is full of BS with the puncture excuse, lol.

The setup time for the hybrid cars is about 20 minutes. So once you've decided to restart you need to add at least 20 minutes to it.

Anyway - half the grid moved to inters whilst the track was clearly too wet. According to Sky (and drivers), the reason isn't that the inters are good, but rather than the wet tyres are "not very good".

When the track is drenched and your tyres are not good enough to use, that isn't good enough. Good job Pirelli Or did they tell Pirelli to make a useless wet tyre that can't be used in the wet?

Are they allowed to change tires under the Red flag? I noticed Verstappen is back onto the full wets. My money is on for some Verstappen Rosberg fireworks. Verstappen has been "phantom overtaking" him. Rosberg just slowed right down to see what the problem was!

Hamilton knows the only way to win the championship is for the track to go green right now. The highest probability that rosberg screws up and loses second.

They were told to, as I understand it. The first red flag restart was not to include any cars on inters.
