Adam! That was in the Spanish GP of 1998

Anyway, Back to the point. Cutted edges at the endplates.. I first saw them at the CART Reynards and Eagles of 1998-99. On F1, I think BAR was the first (obvious Reynard connection) in 2000 and McLaren folowed suit

1998, really, doesn't time fly... Thanks Jordi

I think you are spot on about BAR and cutted (is that really a word ) endplates.

There seems to be renewed development in this area (or at least renewed noticeable development!). And at a point when they are thinking about standard wings!

The McLaren exhausts have some type of harmonic noise device that controls the pitch. Something that is used on motorcycles. I heard Steve Matchett mention it last season when they raced at (I think) Monaco.

No,that's a wild assed guess.
It was all to do with the length/shape/and firing order/joining order but alot had to do the exaust ending in one pipe instead of two as other teams did

930hp that is insane. Especially considering they were thought to be underpowered last year.
to state the obvious thats 310hp per liter.

Personally I think the engines now are incrediblely cool. After the USGP I went to, I couldn't hear for a couple of days. I would love to see 30g or more rpm that would be incredible

Thanks guys for the correct update on BAR rear wings...but then those vertical elements dosen't give much advantage to think about it aerodynamically. Maybe adding more distribution of downforce in the middle of the elements..

Hmmm, this might be just down to some resonance at the exit point. Not sure.

It seems I agree it was a wild assed guess, good to have it confirmed though.
