One question, I usualy bring my Bike to the GP as the easiest way of getting about, would that be a good Idea this weekend? |

It might be a good idea, there shouldn't be too many issues but without Pedestrian Bridge, your only way to the Paddock etc (and the bar!) is through Copse tunnel and around that way (I imagine that's correct but I haven't see the place since the revamp). |

This will be my first meeting at Silverstone with the exception of GP's. Can anyone tell me where is the Paddock bar and how do you get to it for signing on?

Hmm I'm hesitating on the answer because I don't know whether the roads have changed.
In theory you go through the front gate, over the first bridge, turn left at the little roundabout, go over the second bridge and head towards Race Control, you'll see a biggish car park on the right and the Paddock Bar is just behind that car park. Someone else can probably be a bit clearer though! |

parking is not as close as we usually manage - Penny has pointed us to the one between paddock and med centre. This is the one on your left as you drive in, entrance opposite the paddock entrance.
The block between the garages and the paddock car park has the diner at one end & the paddock bar is slightly further back towards the petrol pumps and toilet block. Just a reminder of the earlier sign on due to early inspection - Saturday between 7.00 and 7.45 On post 8.15 for 8.30 Stewards Inspection Sunday between 8.00 and 8.45 On post 9.15 for 9.30 Stewards Inspection |

You may not be allowed to leave your car there all day for this meeting, as the paddock will probably be busy, although if you are out on the circuit somewhere, you will want to drive to post anyway. Assuming, Roger, you're not staying on the campsite? |

I believe on post times were 0800 and 0900 respectively in my instructions. However, I didn't read the parking instructions, so take the hairy one's advice over mine.

Sign-on for non-ES is 7.00 - 0745 on Saturday and 0800-0845 on Sunday. I know Penny is signing on slightly later. However, you must be on post by 8.30 for the stewards inspection and hence we recommend you go on post at6 8.00 and 9.00 respectively to enable you to be ready for the FIA inspection.
Penny has advised me that no marshals will be able to park in the car park behind the bar as it is being used as the Paddock Area. It is therefore suggested that you park behind the med centre and walk across the car park in front of the bar. There are a lot of full grids and the days should provide really good racing. See you all at the weekend. Fay Crook Chief Marshal MSVR Silverstone |

The normal carpark will not be available as it will be full of Lotii (Lotus'sss or whatever the plural is!) atleast on the Saturday. As previously stated, the instruction is to use the Medical Centre carpark. The paddock plan is here http://www.msvracing.co.uk/media/132...ssue%20two.pdf |

possible traffic problems Sunday morning?
Caution - avoid the M1 J14-J15 on Sunday morning!
Just picked this up from the local newspaper - huge long / wide load due at J15 about 08:00 Sunday. Presumably, there will be a major problem squeezing past this as it crawls up the M1 during the early hours - suggest those travelling from darn sarf go for the A5? http://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/ne...yat.6234432.jp |

Great day at Vale today. Cracking Lotus, BMW & Toyo Saloon races. The Fiats weren't quite as bad as expected and one had the most spectacular multiple roll at Stowe that I have ever seen! F2's looked good. Should be good races tomorrow (I'm not there but at Mallory instead). Think we had 6 in the gravel throughout the day. Managed to push one out but had to snatch the rest. And I somehow managed to fall flat on my face while jumping over the armco! Pride hurt more than anything else-luckily it wasn't during the televised races but I'm sure race control will have picked it up.....

Well done all, despite being a bit stretched for numbers you did a great job in keeping things running. Hope we gave you some enjoyable racing to watch in the breaks between flagging and picking cars out of the gravel. Top job

Hi, I also had a good time at Vale In on Saturday and Vale Out on Sunday. Was slightly HOT out there this weekend. Looking forward to the FIA GT meeting soon on the new GP curcuit.

Well done everyone, we might have been thin on the ground but there was some fantastic marshalling going on. The pits and startline crew did a great job with some help from the paddock guys and anyone else we could drag in as well which was very much appreciated. We had two F2 stallers, one on the formation lap and one on the first start which gave us some exercise... The F1 grid is really hard work to clear cars from with as few bodies as we had. Thanks to the ES guys from Ped Bridge and whatever the post before it is now called - you demonstrated some very fine sprinting! I'm not sure who the IO at Ped Bridge was (sorry) but you did a really good job of getting the driver's attention and getting him to do what we needed him to do at a time when he was busy throwing his arms in the air in dismay and at risk of steering his car into the wall and not through the gate. All of you managed to ensure that we got the grid cleared without the need for a safety car which was very much appreciated by Dave Scott and the F2 Stewards. Chief Pits did go a very interesting shade of puce (as did many of us to be fair! ). Well done everyone |
