Here's hoping that any Red Bull involvement in CART doesn't include Cheever! A great sponsor to welcome into the series. Likewise Molson, if rumours turn out to be true.

I agree; it's got a peculiar aftertaste. But the cans are attractive.
Are they bringing their own team or joining another? |

Sigma looked like a competent effort before they went belly-up. Bringing back that outfit under the Red Bull banner could be a smart move. I just pray they don't make the same dumb move they made with Cheever and put Danny Sullivan in charge...
I certainly hope they leave Cheever (and his newphew) out of this team... There are 4 American drivers off the top of my head who would be fantastic on this team, a 3-car effort with maybe another pair in Atlantics would be a dream come true! |

Regarding the two deaths that happened last year here in Sweden:
The first one was a young woman at a nightclub who drank Red Bull. I can't remember whether it was in combination with alcohol, but I wouldn't rule it out (given the fact she was in a nightclub). A short while later, she lost conciousness and died. It later turned out that she had a heart condition that she had been born with (I'm guessing she didn't even know about it herself). The second death was a young man in his mid-20's who swept two cans of Red Bull after an intense workout session. He collapsed and died shortly thereafter. Drinking Red Bull is a big no-no if you have heart problems, are pregnant or if you are working out, so in my opinion those two deaths aren't random "fluke-deaths" - they happened for reasons that could have been avoided. Ok, so the woman couldn't know she had a heart problem, but the guy working out should have known he put his life in danger when he drank that Red Bull directly after his workout. Jeez, how could he even stand to drink two cans of the stuff? Yeeesh... Red Bull's like a weapon of last resort when you absolutely, positively have to stay awake.

Clearing up concerns about the side effects of Red Bull is not "bashing" it exactly. And IMO all "sports drinks" have nasty aftertastes. The new Reebok entry, for example, tastes like gym sox.

I'm told Red Bull is a very good gearbox lubricant...
How about we get back to something remotely racing related? |

Giving Mr. Bell a nickname is not meant to insult him. I shall refer to him as Mr. Bell from now on, if I have to mention him.

So we'll just refer to the proven racers as Derek and Justin, then?

I think T-Bell or Tinkerbell are the best names for Townsend... Can't say anything bad about the first one, that's how he signs his name...lol.

Sorry...honestly, I don't have anything against of him. He seemed pretty nice in Toronto. But, when your name is T-Bell", tinkerbell seems like the obvious play on that name. I'm sure when you were younger and knew what fun was you would jokingly call your friends names and vice-versa.
