Looks like a nice day for todays race. Probably not what the Acura team was hoping for, although they should have a good standing start, with their AWD. http://www.world-challenge.com/index...fastest-in-gta Starting grid, top five. #43 Eversley, Acura. #6 Estre, Mclaren. #31 Dalziel, Porsche. #33 Davison, Nissan. #6 Thorne, Mclaren. http://www.world-challenge.com/image...ing-Lineup.PDF |

Yep, more mass carnage from a standing start. 25 minute race anyone?

Snark aside, it does seem that maybe 40 GT cars doing standing starts on a street circuit lined by concrete may not be the best of ideas.

Its bad enough teams have to risk their cars around street circuits but causing carnage for carnage sake?

These cars look much better around this track than CoTA.

PWC still hasn't lived up to all the hype, with 50 minute sprints, standing starts, and street courses.i don't think it will,it does have a bunch of cool looking cars though,if only we can get one green race would be awesome.

Very disappointing race. It reminded me of the 2013 Baltimore ALMS race. The good news is, unlike at Baltimore, they get another go at it tomorrow.

But not to digress. The standing starts has to go. I have said this for a long time. It looks like folks are starting to come around to that feeling. PWC needs to have a rolling start for every event for now on starting with tommorrow's race. Perhaps they should even consider a single file start on street circuits. |

That was a pretty disappointing race, would have been nice to have less yellow flag running.
I'll definitely keep watching World Challenge either way, but it would be kinda nice if they went to rolling starts. (Though, as TR noted, they don't always work perfectly either.) However, there is another race tomorrow! Let's hope this one goes cleanly and we get a classic! Plenty of good stuff to look forward to, like if Lewis and EFFORT can make it four GTA race wins in a row! Pilgrim should be starting first, by my reckoning, with Catsburg, Beretta, Estre and Davison rounding out the top five starting positions. http://www.world-challenge.com/image...lts-1---1-.PDF Last edited by Mechanic Z; 29 Mar 2015 at 03:50. |

I love the standing starts, but PWC needs to consider if they want to grow as a TV product, or be limited to taped and heavily edited highlight shows. The real money is in broadcasting live, but there is no way they can headline with 20 minutes of racing per hour—and it seems every race starts the same way.
Great racing when it's green but Truth in Advertising laws would make then admit that the "50-minute sprint races" are actually half filler. |

here we go again, racing drivers not obeying yellow flags...
Time for Brian Till to get to serious business and throw that Porsche dumb ass driver #18 out for a weekend or two - I'm sure Tim Pappas and Stan Knox (more damage for him outside his own fault) will fully agree with it! |

I don't know what to think of this series. On one hand, the racing when it's green is really good, however, it's never bloody green enough

I've worked out how to watch this series, I just got back after half an hour and enjoying the last 20 minutes. The Lambo and Ferrari are really showing off the benefits of GT3 well, with both cars taking very different approaches to the corners.
Hopefully the competitors will have a word about rolling starts before the next round, so we might get 50 minute races again. 'International' drivers are dominating the front of this field now - no Americans in the top 4. |
