They'll stay. I was told by a PR representative of the team that Ford only have to fund about $60-80 million towards the team, the rest is sourced through sponsors. Worldwide exposure for a year at peak time on a Sunday, in one of the worlds most glamorous sports that attracts over 100 million viewers is good value for money. They won't pull out.

Agreed, Sfonseca....

They belong back in Sportscar Endurance Racing....

By building an LMP1 prototype and going back to where they made their reputation...

Le Mans

Sebring

Nurburgring

The could also take the cars they are running in Trans-Am and configure them to race as GTS and sell them to privateers to fund the LMP1 program...

They gould build a great Le Means winner for what they waste annually in F-1 to be an also-ran....

i'll tell you what, that would be one strong lineup and cause for a few surprises come race time next year...provided of course that the collective brass at jaguar get their heads out of their collective a**** and provide them with a decent ride.....coulthard's experience + davidson's speed and testing experience would be an excellent combination....

Kinda makes sense does'nt it.

All the lower teams are looking to do a 'BAR'. Grabbing Ant would be a good start.

Wrex, email that idea to Tony Purnell, and you'll be able to claim ten per-cent commission on both drivers salaries!

In an interview with Edsell Ford, grandson of Henry Ford, he said that it "might" be time to change the Jaguar monicker over to the blue Ford oval. In other words, the Jaguar team would become the Ford team. Jaguar in F1 would cease to exist.

What exactly that would do for the team, he didn't say, but I suspect it would become more of an American effort.

They need to concentrate on several key areas IMHO.
1. Build a happy team. Look at the successful teams in F1, they are enjoying themselves and this breeds success.
2. Stable management. People need to feel secure in their jobs and not knowing if you have a job on Monday morning is counter productive and distracting.
3. Employ good development drivers in the interim to help bring the car along and guide the engineers. Raw speed is good but not if a driver can 'drive around a problem'
using talent.
4. Prioritise development in key areas where gains can be made rather than try and develop the entire car in one go.

Jason.

If "Jaguar" changed to "Ford", in all reality all they would be changing is the colour scheme.

Maybe Blue is lighter than Green. (I wonder it they would choose Ford Blue, or a more appropriate to TV Blue...)

But, they would use the "It is a Brand New Team" excuse for lack of speed/wins...

David.
