Not really a huge fan of the way it looks currently. But I think it'll change a little bit. Hopefully the hypercar-lmp is more like a race car (which I think will be).

Toyota may be regretting big time the huge money they invested in this hypercar farce. They could have build a nice looking car (and competitive) by the half of the price (or less) using IMSA platform. But once Toyota were caught in a deception, even if it's a common deception.

Toyota will spend less money with is "hypercar" then other OEM with the LMDh... why??? because it would be a twin brother of the TS 050 but with a new face. But thats only my opinion :-)

They will spend what they feel is necessary. If they feel it’s not worth putting their effort in they will pull out and leave others to continue in the series. But then again, there may be others entering

I don't think so, sadly. The chassis dimensions are different from the current car. It's wider and taller than the TS050. I think it's gotta be different just for the hypercar rules. Plus Toyota says that they are done with the TS050. I do wonder if they will name the new car the TS060?

S365 thinks Toyota will be there with the hypercar. Parts are already in production so they can't turn back according to Vasselon.

Think about it... tere's no reason to stop. They're already nearly done with the car anyway, and testing will commence probably right after Le Mans. They don't want to do lmdh anyway, it's too spec for them. So even if that were available to do, they wouldn't do it. Peugeot are thinking of it because they want to do imsa too and because Ligier will have a tender as one of the 4 next-gen lmp2's. So they can just go with that chassis instead of a custom one from the same company.

I’m not saying they don’t, but do Peugeot want to do IMSA? They’re not in the US market. Is it for the international appeal of the big races? Testing for Le Mans? They didn’t do much ALMS back in the day.
I guess what I’m asking is, have the said they want to do IMSA? |

Now I do think we could possibly see the hypercar run for 20-21 and 21-22 seasons before the worldwide rollout of a shared Toyota/Lexus LMDh/DPi option. But Toyota does seem to be set against racing a spec system. Where else could they run though, F1 is almost spec for the powerunit with only small areas open and HIGH entry cost with other having years of lead time, FE doesn't appear to want more cars so they'd have to buy in, but they would be in when the regs are opening a bit, remaining series are mostly spec or limited development options. Plus they appear to have caught the Le Mans bug and do not want to leave. |

But showing up for years and only getting to camp next to the loo and then finally getting a nice open field? You might stay a bit longer to relish the beauty finally

Not sure if Peugeot plan on doing IMSA, but with an lmdh, it will be eligible to do the big races (NAEC I assume). I think that's one reason they are looking at the class and not just saying "we're doing LMH". Toyota otoh already signed up and started a hypercar. But with the articles confirming their continuation, there is the info at the end of the racer.com article-

Yep. I always go into the circuit on Tuesday when there is virtually no-one there other than the teams in the pits. If, like Eric, I lived in Le Mans, I'd probably go in for a lungful of Le Mans air quite regularly.... |
