Have to figure they need to find space for: 2 maybe 3 GTP-Lamborghini post Daytona, AA car unless MSR gets dropped and one extra possible for enduros 2-5 LMP2s given the WEC teams and LMP3s moving up. I would guess there will be an LMP3 like max number allowed 3 GTD-Pros with Vette and 2 Mustangs GTD is who knows but I wouldn't guess any drops But with the current field hitting max, or at least the "regs" maximum, adding any cars will be tough choices. Adding a round won't really fix pit stall numbers. |

Split race at Laguna might be a tough sell, they also run a decent number of support events so something would have to go. Mosport without GTP would be tough too, but going by modern IMSA/ALMS history over 80s split events. I don't think you can force the Silvers to Pro, and the Gold drivers are the perk the committed Silvers get in the car for training. And there is a Bronze driver benefit for IMSA entry to LM. How that works with very limited GT3 cars will be interesting, but I wouldn't be surprised to see LM only GT3s for Akin/Truman Cup and AsLMS GT be allowed with more cars at LM than WEC |

Do you think IMSA would change their rules to allow Risi to run a Ferrari LMH IF Ferrari wants to allow them?

It sounds like Ferrari is only interested in AF Corse running them but what rule needs to change? They just need to bring the car to Windshear for testing

And we have the return of the Ligier LMP2 next season with Sean Creech stepping up from P3.
https://sportscar365.com/imsa/iwsc/s...m-with-ligier/ No mention of drivers but maybe some of the current squad? |

Ideally with just one team running it, IMSA will introduce bop into a spec class to bring it closer to the oreca spec.

Guessing they got a good price on it! Plus already running a Ligier P3 so there may be some familiarity with the company.
you better believe it! |

Are the orecas running less power than the last time the other chassis options were used? I wonder if the same spec will be applied to the engine in the ligier.

https://sportscar365.com/imsa/iwsc/a...or-2024-plans/
This article is packed with speculation on the state of GTD heading into 2024? Whose side are you on then? AO Racing who wants GTD Am to become a bronze mandate or Paul Miller Racing who wants it Silver still? Honestly, I think the PMR isde made the better argument reading the article. Without saying it directly Mitchel Simmons of PMR I think was saying..if you cant' cut it then go run GT WC America, there is a place for bronze drivers there. |

Do we get to pick sides? Cool - that’s always good for sportscar racing
