With a month and a half to go, we are at 22 entries, bearing in mind the capacity is 35. In an ideal world, we will get another 4-5 GT3 entries, and another 6-7 GT4s. But honestly, it doesn't feel too much like we will hit the 35 car capacity at the current rate.

Wasn't the suggestion that some teams who ran last year were planning on running on the continent again in 2021.
It might be that they change plans again and run in BGT instead, or at least some early rounds. |

Silverstone saw the highest with 10- 3x 2 Seas, 2x Balfe, 2x Jenson, 3x Optimum
2 Seas have moved to Mercedes but haven’t announced any programs, Balfe have said anything about their second car, Jenson are likely to do GTWC Europe or British GT, Optimum have only announced GT Open so far so we shall see I do expect we will see more than one 720s in British GT this year |

I think the number of cars on the grid are reasonable given the current climate. Hopefully we will see a few more joining the grid at some races this year

Its a very weird thing. When the original MP4-12C GT3 launced there were loads of cars for its first year and then they dropped off markedly for the second season. It appears we have the same with the 720s GT3, im curious as to why this is? We kinda saw the same with the latest gen Bentley too, i wonder if they are not easy for bronze drivers to drive or just too expensive? One of the big advantages of the Mclaren GT3 is that the chassis stands up very well to accident damage. Often we see the likes of Audi, Lambo, Porsche all needed new chassis after accidents but i remember reading from Mclaren that with the 650s GT3 they never needed to change a chassis because the carbon tub was very strong.

I believe the Bentley was significantly more expensive than the others.

Has Silverstone 500 been cancelled? It has been removed from "Events & Tickets" page on Silverstone website. There are events and tickets available in May and July, but nothing in June.

One month til Brands Hatch, and we are certainly still a little way from the 35 car capacity. I think there’s a possibility we may not hit it this year.
2 Seas haven’t declared any programs yet with their pair of AMG’s, RJN didn’t manage to pull together a GTWC program so we might well see them in British GT. there’s a pair I can think of of undeclared Am Mclaren 720s’, unsure if anything will come from them. I doubt we will see a Ferrari again this year. It’s looking a little slim for a particularly big GT3 entry at this point. 2 more GT4’s to be announced this week according to British GT themselves. |

I think TF are unlikely in GT3 with their European LMS and WEC commitments.
Their GT4 cars are up for sale too so think that answers that |

From Sportscar365, it seems TF now have just 1 GT3 Spec Aston, others being converted to GTE Spec, and below concerning British GT;
"TF Sport is aiming to run a “bits and bobs” program with its sole Aston Martin Vantage GT3 this year, according to team principal Tom Ferrier. Select British GT rounds with Giacomo Petrobelli and International GT Open races involving Pirelli GT4 America series champion Michael Dinan are understood to be on the cards." It's gone a bit quiet with GT3 announcements recently, still hoping for at least 1 more Aston, 1 more Mclaren & the return of the Audi, but not holding my breath. |

Yes the announcements have really slowed, we are at 24 cars overall, with a capacity of 35, and 25 days until racing.
Its now getting quite close in the runnings to think that we will see a full 35 car grid this year. There is a GT3 announcemnet on thursday morning so we shall see there. Of the undeclared- RJN had said they would be running a GT3 in British GT and GTWC Euro, neither of which have materialised just yet. TF Sport per above are a big loss, its mad to think of British GT only having a single Aston GT3 confirmed so far... 2 Seas have their brand new pair of AMG's that were evaluating race series in Europe, so that may happen still.. I dont think we will see last years AF Corse Ferrari, with their Euro plans back on track this year. Optimum are now pretty well pegged between GTWC Euro & America, + a GT Open program supposedly. They did have an additional purely customer car running at Silverstone last year that hasnt announced any plans, so theres maybe something there. Balfe have taken their new Audi to GT Open, they have their Proctor car running, I dont think there is any additional cars there to announce, except for maybe a Mia Flewitt GT4. Tolman have never reappeared from COVID with their pair of 570s'... maybe they sold, I know their focus now is on historics. Its hard really to see where there are too many more entries at this point. I think if we hit maybe 28 cars that'd be ok...
