I think you will find that the seals go through the heads,timing cover and sump.

An angle grinder would work wonders...

But the source for the hypothetical suggested the engine bits were laid out for all to see in the less-than-clinical confines of a pit tent....

I was interested to learn that a number of teams had their MoTeC Control ECU's taken away for checks of the hardware and software before Eastern Creek. I assume the teams have a stock of these, to plug in for testing and the like....

I know you will be surprised, but the following was found on P9 of today's AA.... well I assume its P9, there are no page numbers.....

"Sump Ruling Revealed
TEGA has requested that V8 Supercar teams make provisions for engine sumps to be sealed, in addition to the long-standing practice of sealing cylinder heads. The additional measure was circulated to teams on August 19. TEGA dt specify by when the teams had to complete the task of drilling two sump studs or bolts per side suitable for a seal to be fitted.

Some interesting speculation had arisen along the pit lane about the reasons for the directive, but TEGA officials deny that it was prompted by anything sinister, pointing out that sumps had been sealed occassionally in the past"


Now I would not like to suggest that the thoughts a little earlier in this post were the prompt for this news item, but it seems odd that one week an issue gets raised here from a discussion at a late night meal amongst fellow conspiracy theorists, none of whom have links to the sport, and whacko the story appears in AA as a "V8 Vibes" news item.

Should I be demanding a royalty?????
