This.

Seems like all these people living in a fantasy land willingly forgetting what a joke this series is and what a joke it was been for the last 12 years.

as far I know, the marsh racing corvette DP with the whelen sponsorship will be used by AXR this year as the second car full season. I'm talking about the #31.
The two AXR full season car will be the #5 and #31, still unconfirmed how and if will be used also the third corvette DP (the AXR #9)

They might run the third car in the race even if they skip the roar I suppose.

Mr. Mike Hedlund confirmed for Starworks in PC. Congrats on the ride Mike.

Also confirmation of the Aston GTLM lineup (Lamy, Dalla Lanna, Turner and Lauda), 3/4s of Turners lineup (Paltalla, Marsal and Priaulx) and the final two for the Krohn Ligier (Pla and Brundle).

Pla and Brundle should bring that car well up to speed.

Thanks guys, should be a fun year!

Really curious to see how the LMPC changes work out... but I'm not sure if any of the cars will be fully upgraded to 2015 specs by the Roar. Either way, hopefully it'll reduce the GTLM/LMPC overlap and make the racing better for everyone involved.

Tech times add 4 more Porsches from GB, Park Place and 2 from Muehlner. So that's 52, plus Turner will be added. And somehow they messed up and listed both Starworks as PC cars. The DP will have to go through tech before or after the RG car since they group them by type.

I think Mazda wants to re-homologate the Lola chassis as Mazdas.

According to the entry list, the Starworks DP has Robbie Kerr listed instead of Ryan Hunter-Reay. However both racer.com and sportscar365.com say that RH-R is their fifth driver.

Good looking entry. Nice to see Mr. Long in with Falken. I've been under the football rock; was Simon P expected in the Corvette? That's a great add for them.

Will be interesting to see what Krohn and Shank can do with their new rides.

It truly is saddening to see how the 24 Hours of Daytona, once so steeped in sports car racing history, has fallen so far since the introduction of the Daytona Prototype Formula in 2003, not only in popularity but in prestige and in relevance. Gone are the days where true endurance could be enjoyed in its purest form. No gimmicks, no nascar, all the prestige and ambiance of a world class event like in the 1970's with the FIA World Championship for Makes, in the 80's during the fabulous GTP/Group C era, and during the early to mid 90's during the World Sports Car Era. But since the advent of Grand-Am and their cost saving Daytona Prototype Formula, and with it...the lack of international relevance, that all has been irrevocably squandered. All that ambiance, all that prestige is thrown out the window. As a result...crowds have practically disappeared and most of the media attention along with it, the cars are no longer interesting both aesthetically, or technologically. You have these last minute gimmicky dash to the line finishes brought on by unnecessary yellow flags thrown by the soft heads at race control.

I think it was Leo Parente who said it best wayyy back in a 2010 Fast Lane Daily Shakedown episode where he brilliantly explains everything that the Rolex 24 used to be, and everything that is wrong with it today...feast your ears; http://youtu.be/9Gs5T7e9QbY?t=39s

Now, don't get me wrong...the TUDOR Merger has certainly injected some life back into the 24 Hours of Daytona with huge grids and some internationally relevant cars, more big name drivers of today, and the coming together of the two series fans. However, can that last? Especially considering how poorly the 2014 edition was operated in terms of balance of performance, race control decisions and the excessive yellow flags? Only time will tell.

I'm sure these loathing sentiments have been re-hashed countless times in the past couple of years, but I wanted to give my two cents.
It was the first race of a new series, give it a while. Sane with F1 V6T engines.

When you consider they boogered most of the races last season and lost 35% of the GTD field over the winter it is hard to be optimistic, hard as I try.

Not expected, but not fully unexpected either considering that he's just switched allegiance to Chevrolet by moving to Penske in Indycar.
