Seems the future is going to be electric powered SUVs, well that's something to look forward to. I'm sure we were all fans of the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy

Given the acceptance of moving on from the past exhibited by some BTCC fans, it will be 2053 and people will be longing for the halcyon days of NGTC with hybrid!!

But yeah, probably going electric at some point in the future is inevitable and we just have to hope racing can still be good and we all get used to that. My hope is that racing can still function in its current form when electric, not 10-minute gimmicky 'duels', finals or whatever for 4 cars. |

The truth is that some Li-ion incidents will result on a thermal runaway, that can require a higher level of cooling to extinguish compared to a carbon based fire. But it is wrong to claim that all EV fires will result in a thermal runaway, or that all thermal runaways have to be allowed to sell extinguish. |

We have all this hype about motorsport having to go electric , but here is an interesting alternative.
Motorsport has the opportunity to keep the combustion engine alive . We can have series that are electric, that can be used for the appropriate related technology from manufacturers and the future . However now is the time to open up motorsport to celebrate the internal combustion engine. The technology and engineering is already here it doesnt need any further development. F1 for example could easily go back to a durable V10 engine running on biofuel , after all when the motor vehicle replaced the horse it didnt stop horses from developing into racers for pleasure did it . |

I guess it’s inevitable that the conventional engine will be further scaled down and the EV element scaled up in the coming years. Hell if they can make the cars all sound like super bikes I’d keep watching.

Anymore on WSR running a 2 series Gran Coupe? Listening to Dick Bennetts on a podcast and he was speaking about next year's programme. They desperately need it.

BTCC 2024 News & Rumours
Jake Hill is still doing well with the Beemer. I don’t think they necessarily need to change
