i did see a DP in an SCCA Reg or Nat event at RoadATL two years? ago and can't find the records of any lap times. it may also have been on the old pavement. however, i did find that DSRs turn laps in the 1:17s to 18s there. not sure if that info helps compare anything to everything.
a very green RoadATL and like others stated, first "official" test session, surely there's more in the cars. i would think in the low teens. Quote:

Why change the engine? It's running a cooking Chevvy already, so why mess about. That way Euro owners can go US, and vice-versa? These cars are a SUPPORT race at the Le Mans 24 hours, after all, and who knows, may just be a cheap way into the race itself in the future? So keep them to the same spec, globally.

It would make no sense to go through the cost of modifying the car to run a different engine when the one it has works perfectly fine, so they are not. A team taking the FLM/LMPC chassis and putting a different drivetrain in the back to meet the 2011 LMP2 rules is a possibility. |

Sure it would if your name is Panoz and also happen to own ELAN and it would allow you to keep some more of the money in house.

It seems from the article that it is the LS3 6.2L engine that will come in the FLM09 (LMPC-10) and Elan has the rebuild contract on the engines. So there should be no problem for inter series racing, the only niggle may be the headlights that are not required in the FLMS, unless there is to be a retro kit to install them in the older models. Or buy the new nose with the lights for the car.

Im hoping there was a typo and an extra 0 was added or it's $20,000 for a full season of rebuilds. How long is the whole race season distance though? Otherwise Pruett is right, everyone will buy a new one and get Elan to certify and seal it.

Also did anybody else notice that a used car is only $40,000 cheaper than a new one? |

Too bad the engine sounds are pretty much drowned out by the wind noise in the video.

Now that they have mentioned the actual cost of the LMPC chassis, what would be the yearly budget difference between buying a used P1 or P2 and going for the overall win in 2010 vs. running LMPC? i.e. like an Intersport team vs. an LMPC effort… Does anyone know the economics of this?

What the actual costs are/to be, you'd have to ask the team owners. |

I'm thinking the Supercar Life guys, since it was already confirmed their owner had a test drive.
