F1 is really starting to look amateurish this year with drivers losing their seats over petty things and the politics finally bubbling over onto TV (instead of just the specialist press). |

Incidentally, he didn't outqualify Coulthard or Speed and Monza, and he prevented Liuzzi getting a proper run due to his silly-looking spin in Q1. He may have been fast, but he hasn't picked up results (even if he had an Monaco he'd still be well behind David). |

I have been really quite disappointed with Klien this year. I think the pressure to perform really should have been on him this year and he hasn't really delivered. Ditching him in the middle of the season would be very harsh though so I hope it indeed was his decision (although that's quite an odd thing to do in itself)

Going to the USA is a death-knell for a Formula One career. Being so far away from Europe, I don't know whether it's feasible for Klien to go to GP2 to try to find another way into Formula One if he doesn't have a seat lined up. The trouble is that he's running out of time to find a half-decent seat for 2007. You'd think that BMW have their seats lined up. Williams have their seats filled. Spyker is a wild-card, but you'd think they would put a Dutchman into at least one of their seats. Toyota have drivers. Ditto Honda.

The only race seats left are Super Aguri and Spyker. In the case of the former, the only non-Japanese driver they'd take on would be Davidson. Spyker is his best shot at a race seat really. Otherwise, he'll have to be a tester.

Is Karthikeyan still involved with Williams?
Either way, I'd say he's a strong favourite for a Spyker drive in 2007, which will surely be less competitive than RBR and probably STR, but does at least keep him in F1 for another year - he obviously believes in himself. |

A real shame ... I think the lad has some talent. With some luck he would be ahead of DC this year. Hope he gets to prove a few points a la Massa

Klien's too hard on the car compared to DC, which is why hes had poor reliability. Only Malaysia was genuinely bad luck.

Klien is too hard on the car? Well RBR should build it stronger then!

So then- Where's Klien going next year?
He's declined a Champ Car seat (), and is insisting that he has "other options" for 2007. A year off with his feet on the couch perhaps? Or could it be an important testing role at... Super Aguri?

Wasn't a test drive at Toyota mentioned?
I wouldnt be so smug about a Super Aguri test, keeping inside the F1 circle is an important thing. Look at Briscoe, he thought going to America and doing well would have been better than running around in a Jordan. How hindsight is a wonderful thing, you never know he could have done a Webber. |

Briscoe's problem wasn't so much being out of the F1 circle, it was more that he didn't do well in America.
Klien is rumoured for Spyker it seems, but he will find a role I'm sure. I'm under the impression he'd rather be a tester than go race in Champcar or something, a shame as we'd welcome him in Champcar! |
