Only if either the angle of the strut with respect to the vertical, or the angle of the lower link with respect to the horizontal are affected will the roll centre be moved. |

So then, the RC does move since altering camber on a Mac strut involves altering the strut's axis from vertical. I'm guessing that adding a few degrees of neg camber and lowering the car 15mm will move the swing arm farther from center - on the opposite side of the car.
The Mini is a pretty incredible car where geometry is concerned - from my novice view point of course. Toe changes are basically nill theu the entire stroke up front, but like all other Mac struts, the Mini's front end will eventually find positive camber at full compression or thereabout. Hence the question regarding RC location; I think a longer swing arm will help? I realize I'm poking in the dark... |

Increasing the angle of the strut will shorten the swing arm and so raise the roll centre. If you can increase the camber by adjusting the angle of the spindle relative to the strut you will be able to add camber but not affect the strut angle.
Lowering the car will lengthen the swing arm and so lower the front roll centre. You will have to plot or calculate the result on the roll centre if you make both modifications. |
