just did the maths

Turks is 18 points in the standings but a lights to finish line victory and Jordan not scoring more than 9 points (very possible since he starts 13th) means Turks will grab the championship lead after the 1st race

only man who can hinder him is Shedden

I could not care less. I am watching it from home and just think that this layout is absoltely gorgeous. Two more races like that would do me nicely.

it was a procession almost no passing whatsoever , that's not BTCC, if you want to watch a procession go F1 or DTM

Well, it was almost WTCC or dare I say it DTM levels of processional racing, but not all 30 races in a season are gonna be classics are they?
Sky isn't falling in because they put on 1 dull race out of 10 so far.

OR

NEVER watching again until they install push to pass and sprinklers out on track to go off at random intervals!

back to old layout, this one doesn't add anything think Alan Gow thinks the same as he already mentioned before the race he is worried that the main passing points got removed

EDIT the Dynamics drivers criticize the track too for not being able to pass, even Louise says the race was rather boring

I do watch F1 and the DTM but I do not mind seeing that sort of thing in the BTCC either. I am not going to complain if the next two are all action thrillers or identical to that.

well I don't watch any DTM or F1 due to sheer boredom , we don't need BTCC to be like that at all

anyway in this case I hope original layout back for 2015

porsche962fan, the race was dull, but race 1's have been very dull in the past. And I'm happy with the full layout as long as the support races are entertaining (I guess the Ginetta Junior drivers attempted to rectify that! Ridiculous race!)

Well, the Ginetta Juniors didn't have any problem putting on a good race on this layout so it can be done!

it's a very simple question

is the full layout better than Island ?? the answer seems NO so back to the old one

full layout adds a bit more fast corners spectacular from onboard view but ads nothing to the racing itself, on the contrary it removed 2 big passing points like Alan Gow himself said was worried about

fast flowing narrow track is best recipe for boredom

Yes it may SEEM no, but you can't base that on one race. Lets find out.

Passing points? You mean drivers now have to use skill to overtake cleanly, rather than just smashing into the back of someone and pushing them wide at the hairpin, which is normally what happens at Oulton?

I reckon part of the problem is Britten. It doesn't provide any sort of chance going in to it, and the exit spreads the field. It's a shame they can't have an uninterrupted run from the hairpin down to the Hislop chicane.

That would be amazing and it was almost announced that way, getting everyone's hopes up before the press released was corrected.

I think you'd have to take out Brittens or Knickerbrook chicanes to make this layout better for overtaking tbh.

Well if TOCA really are clamping down on driving standards, then I think Alain Menu will be demoted a few places. Awful move on Gio and a Plato-esque, needless lunge on Jordan. Another masterclass from Turks, Collard also, and Rob Austin was great. Hope Newsham can make race 3.

Tom Ingram might get it after ramming Tordoff in last corner

wonder if Collard might get demoted for passing under yellow

Menu trying to defend himself is a joke. He was nowhere near halfway alongside!

Áron Smith on reverse grid pole, with Ingram alongside. Of course this is all provisional...

...as the forecast suggests, spots of rain are starting to fall at Oulton Park...
