Oliver Oakes is missing from the times in testing, is he racing this weekend? Impressive pace from Dias in the National class again, looked like Mackenzie was going to dominate the class after pre-season testing.

Right, so Adam Christodoulou's leading the Star Mazda series stateside at the moment (or was); with a name like Christodoulou, must be brothers...chances are?

Marcus Ericsson grabbed pole for race 2 for himself and Double R. A good effort on his first meeting back in British F3. It was hotter than in the morning, which shuffled the order of the top few about a bit. Is that a career best for Henry Arundel?
Gabriel Dias was flying again in the National Class, although this time his International Class team-mates did edge ahead. Report and and times: Code:

Even though its down on numbers this year, it certainly isn't lacking quality; top 16 in qualy 1 separated by less than 1 second, and top 15 in qualy 2 separated by 5 tenths! Few good performances out there. Hywel Lloyd does a good job with CF, he has never been run by a 'top' team in his whole career, yet has a Formula Renault title and several good F3 showings to his name with his small 1 car team. If Gabrial Dias keeps showing that pace in the National class, he will make a name for himself. Wouldn't have thought he would be ahead of Boyd and Buzaid would you?

Nick Tandy has won Race 1 at Rockingham by over 8 seconds. Bloody marvellous!
It looks as though there was a kerfuffle at turn 2 on the opening lap, because Ricciardo completed zero laps and Van Der Zande pitted at the end of the end of the the lap, rejoined and did a handful of laps, including the fastest lap, then retired. Ericsson, Nakajima and Huertas made it a 2-3-4 for Double R. Hywel Lloyd had been running as high as 5th at one stage, but dropped right back after maybe getting over-excited. Dias was leading the National Class, but they gave him a drive-through penalty, presumably for a false start, after nine laps , so McKenzie inherited the win, but Dias was still 2nd. |

Congratulations to Nick! I can't begin to imagine how emotional that win must have been, what a fitting tribute to his brother.

lloyd's car came back on a flatbed, i think he fell off at the first corner/hairpin. Tandy's car failed on the finish line - something at the front end broke. he drove a faultless race, couldn't have done any better. brilliant

Marcus Ericsson has won race 2, his first ever BF3 win, from Arundel and Buzaid.
I'm not sure what happened to Nick Tandy except that he had to stop for a new nose cone but did set fastest lap, although he was only 14th. Christodoulou was leading, but was given a drive-through penalty for something, which he ignored, so then he was given the black flag. Very silly. I know the flag signals are hard to see at Rockingham, but all the cars have pits to driver radio contact. |

Just want to point your attention to the fact that Hywell Lloyd was doing incredible times, bearing in mind he got Mugen Power, which was lacking pace on previous ocasions.
vd Zande pulled to the pits, they did check the car and send him back to the track. I am shocked by the lack of T-Sport pace, I know they did come back in the second race but it was awfull seeing them so low in the standings. Just came bk home, I know Riki's ignored sign to pull in and take punishment, but did so in the end... hmmm maybe to late... |
